Forums - Gaming - Mass Effect: Andromeda (PS4, XBO, PC) official gameplay trailer

Uh, so I hope all of those Krogans, Turians and Humans who are hostile to you come from the other pathfinder ships. Seems like some pretty shit selection policy if the Milky Way refugees are all going to end up fighting each other. Kinda confirms my view that the 'fuck you' option at the end of ME 3 was the right call, hit the reset button and hope the next cycle generates a much better class of civilisations.

And why so many Krogans? Weren't the pathfinder ships only mean to be crewed with the 4 council species? Though it does make a lot of sense to load up a handful of Krogans in each ship for the muscle.

Still painfully excited for this. Combat looks great! I hope the multiplayer sticks with the ME3 format. Looking forward to getting into that almost as much as the campaign.

The game sounds like it could work well as two player co-op in the campaign. But that won't happen I assume.

Edits:

OK so started the training mission. First off, and first EA dick move, to sigbn in for training you HAVE to tick the what appears to be optional tick box to give EA permission to spam you with infor about not just Mass Effect but also any other shit they want to throw at you. Effin' dicks dragging down the tone from the start.

Watcfhed the Arks and Nexus and vid. So each ark has 20K people on it. And it sounds like Nexux will have a shit ton of people on it too, just not 20K of each of the non-council species. So I guess the Nexus is where all those Krogan come from. I do hooe we get some Volus traders. Perhaps some Batarian stow aways. And some Hanar for the lols. I assume no Quarians, because given the time of when the Arks and Nexus leaves I imagine the Quarians aren't interested in sending a chunk of its people off on a one way mission. But maybe they contribute a couple of Quarians to the Nexus engineering team. I'm gonna miss Tali.

Not enough Seashells

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

That was how you're supposed to do a gameplay trailer! Looked outstanding.

To those concerned about the whittling down of RPG elements - try to bear in mind that this was a Game Awards trailer. They were always going to amplify action and explosiveness in this.

In recent interviews they have emphasized a lot of RPG elements, exploration, a new system of skill trees etc.

That's somewhat reassuring, but Bioware as a whole have been suffering under the thumb of EA. They've forsaken RPG elements in more than one franchise for the sake of gaining a broader audience. There's nothing inherently wrong about it, they need to sell copies, but it's frustrating for an aging nerd who grew up with their classics in the 90's and 2000's.

RPG? Doubt it.

I wonder about that, see, in gameplay trailers they won't be showing the in depth RPG side and numbers if all they are trying to show is how to shoot people. :P

Hmm, pie.

They just released the second briefing of the Andromeda Initiative. Well worth a look, and much more science/exploration/trade etc focused.

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

Looks very good! If it gets delayed it won't be the end of the world, I'd gladly play this on Scorpio.
