Is Final Fantasy XV a step in the right direction??

YES 220 64.71%

NO 120 35.29%

Total:340

Depends what you consider right.

It certainly is in a direction. And that direction is as far from FF away as possible.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

As for direction..I feel the franchise has become linear with less freedom. Basically just walking down a hallway with forgettable characters...past 3 ff have all had no world map really....x you have to travel to by points. This is the first FF game to open the world up to explore that amazing scenery in the background.

I did feel the action was too....compacted and busy. Reminds me of Kingdom hearts...but...i think we just need to get used to it...something tells me we'll see a more refined version of it in coming games.

come on its better then ff13 LMAO

No because ff15 does not have waifu porn in the internet, its just 4 dudes, ff13 had vanille, lightning and sera , some of the best waifus to fap online to weeaboo fanmade porn.

So beautiful I almost cried.

"You should be banned. Youre clearly flaming the president and even his brother who you know nothing about. Dont be such a partisan hack"

Am I the only one who thinks the numbers are getting ridiculously high? They should ditch the numbered titles and just go with a different subtitle each time, like the Zelda series does.

You mean like Kingdom Hearts where the naming is mostly jibberish?

Hmm, pie.

I would like to see:

1) turn based combat returns, random encounters, fix isometric view, and hidden treasures/locations.
2) FFX sphere system for upgrading characters.
3) FF7 Materia system also be in there.

Take Final Fantasy away from realism... go back to fantasy worlds, that where really weird and differnt than ours.

Mixing parts of FFX with parts of FF7, is basically what Id like to see done.

FF12 had what was pretty close to a world map, I think. It was made up of fairly open non-linear maps with a lot of interconnected points.  It certainly wasn't in any way a "hallway" game.

I'd say that it is a step forward in terms of world design, gameplay and battle system. I've been loving those 3 aspects of the game, and despite needing a few polishment, those 3 are well grounded. I'd also say that its 2 steps backwards in terms of character and character design, pretty dissapointed on that regard.

I wish people would stop expecting turn based battle system from this franchise, its done and its most likely not gonna happen again. And thats a good thing for the most part.

You are right, pretty early on in the game, if you wanted to, you could wander to areas of the game far higher in level than you currently were, aside from some mini bosses in the way here or there, plus entirely optional areas too. It had an overworld map but that was more for fast travel than anything.
