Forums - Microsoft - Nextbox - Will we get MGSV and FFXIV and GTVI?

Metal gear has appeared on the Xbox 1 before, Kojima seems to want to express his artistic vision on the best technology. I think this is a distinct possibility. Also depends on the sales, this is a very expensive game to develop and the next one even more so. Relies on massive sales to payback massive costs.

FFXIV - Has never been on the Xbox before, but rising costs could force the developers hand into releasing this one multiplatform. Furthermore low sales in Japan means that they would want to seek the widest market possible in what is becoming a niche genre. The Xbox dominates the english speaking gaming market. The obvious choice for a port. Depends on the sales of FFXIII.

GTVI? - Im not sure, since sony doesn't own the company it's up to them. The lure of money could do it though.

FFXI was on the x-box

We need to see what MS does before we can predict what developers will do. if you believe the CEO of MS, the next x-box won't have a media delivery system (no DVD or BD). All games will be downloaded. We will see how that flies.

I dont understand, first off what is Nextbox?

SE doesn't whore games like Ea. It's either on one console or the game isn't coming out. I don't think it will sell well on a console brand basically non-existant to japan. Who even says FFXIV will be on a sony console. Se is free from sony , and put it on any console they want. If the nextbox sells well in Japan maybe SE will move it exclusively to it. FFXIV is probaly going to come this gen anyway. IF so then I could only see it coming to ps3 or wii(which would make fans bitch , because of the graphical downgrade for XIII). The others Idk.

If anything that would be just one SKU, furthermore I would say that it might not even be sold to retail chanels. That nextbox SKU could be a combination cable box and games system offered through places like Comcast for their media delivery services.

The reason why I considered the FF as possibly coming to the Xbox is that as of this point the PS3 sales of the system are practically dead in Japan. The Japanese developers can't simply rely on the Playstation to deliver the sales they need just from their home market.

Ahh the Xbox, oh yes and after lost odyssey bombed in japan, you expect square to release the next final fantasy for the Xbox 360? May I remind you sure the PS3 may have pretty bad sales in japan, but its still outsold the 360 4 to 1 in that region. Also, its funny you act as if the only english speaking country is North America. MGS will stay playstation exclusive until kojima is fired.

I'm pretty sure Kojima said MGS4 is the last chapter of the series.

And by pretty sure, I mean I'm positive.

Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.
