Sounds like nonsense. Why would a small store in Italy order 150 units of NES mini and 140 controllers. This isn't Nintendo's next zomg console... And not to mention that you said so yourself there weren't pre-orders avaliable WW... So why would a small store be reserving pre-orders when a) He knows Nintendo has done this previously, b) Orders 150 units based on what exactly? and c) Why would he risk customer dissatisfaction if Nintendo wasn't doing pre-orders?

Also whats even more interesting is that I just called my local ebgames and they said they only got 3 of them... So an eb games store in Canada which is the canadian gamestop gets only 3 but a small video game store in Italy gets 12? I am pretty skeptical...

But even if it were all true, it would continue to be dependent on Nintendo's estimates... Because it is Nintendo who needs to tell the manufacturer how much of each to make and then the manufacturer has to make them and etc. So if Nintendo predicts it is going to sell a blah amount, they will sign a contract with someone who has to meet a certain target by a certain time. I am pretty sure this has to be pre-planned before they officially announce it considering how we have had reports of manufacturers saying they will ship blah amount of say NX before the NX even got officially announced.

So when Nintendo announces it and the demand is higher than expected, they need to get more manufacturers or resign the contract which takes time cause they need more factories and etc. So even if it were all true, it would still be left to Nintendo's estimates and these things aren't made by using magic so they take time to get made and shipped and etc...

A lot of people has been asking for the console. 150 seems about right for a small videogame local where people go to buy videogames.

Nintendo knew that and decided to push this shit. No excuse.

If that's what you want to believe then go for it.

I am more skeptical

Nintendo deserves all the shit they're taking for this.

They had what should've been one of the hottest gifts this Christmas and they completely fucked it up.

I have several friends that wanted this bad, but now are probably never going to buy one because they've gotten frustrated trying to find one. This isn't like the Wii where they're willing to wait around forever to get one, people get pissed off after a while.

Well, can't say he's wrong.

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Meanwhile, I'm just lucky to have gotten in a pre-order for the Black Friday 3DS before that sold out quickly as well.

I'm just worried about stock for the Nintendo Switch when that comes out, hopefully I can get one without having to hunt.

The first shipment is only 2 million units, so it's pretty likely there'll be shortages on that.

Please note that, such could be a shipment for like a week (or two). In any case, i would expect a shortage either way. Nintendo will not let the overstuffed Wii U launch happen again. Or at least i hope not .

and he should also talk abt the stupid scalpers and the stupid customers that are willing to pay the stupid scalper's stupid price It's a stupid neverending cycle.

Its avoidable if nintendo just ships enough units instead.

The scalpers can do bussiness because nintendo keeps its profitable for them to do so.

Nintendo are only planning that many Switch's for its first month right?

I know its a 199$ product instead of a 60$ one, but chances are the Switch could get the same treatment... end up in the hands of scalpers, instead of consumers that just want to get one at retail price and be able to game on it.

Regardless of the initial shipment, assuming I plan to get a Switch at launch, I'm not taking any chances, this is Nintendo we're talking about after all.

But I digress.

The first month is more like two weeks, and two million is a fine number when you compare it to the timeframe of roughly six weeks for systems that launch in mid-November; shipments for such a period amounted to ~4m units and we are talking about the holiday season here.

Switch is $199?

Yes supposedly planning a cheap 199$ and a more expensive 249$ model.

And I remember a 2m nr thrown around for launch amount (for the switch).

So when Barkley mentions that "low" amount(2m), is the reason scalpers are makeing it hard to get a NES mini.... my mind just went... isnt that what the Switch was supposed to launch with? Couldnt the same happend to the switch then?

The price is great tbh, its what alot of people said nintendo needed to do to sell the switch well.

I mean look at the Xbox One Slim and PS4 slim... they re like 208$ - 212$ atm.
