Europe loves fifa and tomodachi life, they don't count.

yeah, but the difference is that those platforms were able to run games, not as good, but they played them, wii/wii u missied on almost 98% of the great games on ps3/360 because they couldn't even run them, and it will be the same with switch, you will NEVER see red dead redemption 2 on switch, you will NEVER see mass effect andromeda on switch, etc. |
You're probably right. I'm not interested in either of those games but I feel for those who are.

Don't forget NES. The Sega Master System ran circles around it power-wise but sold like 1/4 as much. |
Thank you. I was unsure how the NES compared to the SMS but I can add it to the list now:
NES, PS1, PS2, Wii, GameBoy, DS, 3DS, all weaker and yet sold better.

Agreed. The Yamauchi era was the best.

Europe doesn't count for the success of an European ad campaign?

I dunno, Top Gear Overdrive and Beetle Adventure Racing looked pretty damn good on N64 back in the day. When you look at the system's overall best looking games though, stuff like Majora's Mask, Conker's Bad Fur Day, or Donkey Kong 64, it was no slouch. |
Yes. I thought about BAR while I was getting ready, and I remember being fairly impressed with TGO. The PS1 racinng games still posterized them, a'la Michael Jordan. I also wanted to highlight the areas where the N64 had the clear edge, but time is not my friend at the moment. Poeple on this site, almost to a fault, say N64 was teh most powerful. It was on paper, but I really don't think it's that clear cut. BAR was super fun!

Now it's business as usual again. Im always surprised by how much Sony consoles tend to outsell Nintendo....the company that screwed them lol |
Nintendo won the console industry 3 times to Sony's 3 times and won the handheld industry 4 times to Sony's 0. Yes, Nintendo is 1-2 against Sony in consoles head to head, but overall, it's not as lopsided as you think it is.

Gangster?

What's surprising about it? Sony spends pretty heavily in marketing their product, even more at times than Microsoft. Nintendo, not so much.
I certainly see more PS ads than either of the other two but that's just my very much anecdotal evidence.

I recall a thread comparing MS, Sony, and Nintendo corporate health and it turns out Nintendo was the healthiest, Sony the unhealthiest.
Nintendo might have dodged a bullet bailing out on PlayStation.
