So there wont be anymore review? The last review dropped it to 83. I have a feeling kotaku might give it a perfect score and that would push it back up to 84

Kotaku doesn't score games, though.

I read their review in progress so i thought they would. My bad.

Well, obviously a game from 2009 isn't as impressive now as it was then.

Let's assume that FFXIII released on november 29th with modern graphics,  do you really think it would get a 83?

It's not just the graphics that has change in 7 years, conventions are different as well.

Exactly, conventions change and FFXIII would get bashed even more for its extreme linearity, its way of storytelling,  characters, etc

I think you're puting yourself in a scenario that fits your narrative, but you can't really define these conventions in themselves. Remember, there are games that adscribe to these conventions you speak of and have said "flaws" you point out that got critical acclaim. INSIDE is extremely linear, but got massive acclaim. Gone Home had the same way of storytelling than XIII (minus cutscenes) and it got universal praise. Metal Gear Solid V has a very unlikeable cast and it is considered a masterpiece.

There's no factual evidence as to why XIII would have to get bashed, since the conventions you speak of doesn't necessarily have to support your view. You can only use an hypothetical scenario, which has the same validity than me saying these new conventions actually would make XIII be more praised. The ultimate answer is we don't know until, if it ever happens, a port of FF XIII comes to light and critics re-review it.

Tied with TLG now. Oh, snap.

Not sure where this will end up with all the recent changes announced: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=223382&page=1#

These days reviewers will change scores...soo......

I doubt most reviewers will bother updating their score for XV, if any.

History has proved that. They just mention it but won't change their review. If i remember correctly, was only done for driveclub (which seriously deserved a new review) and was only done by 1 publication

Welp.

Whatever I guess, I'll be buying the PS4 version sometime later this month more than likely (regardless of whether there's a price drop or not).

I think whatever my score now will be lower than what it will be when I play the PC version in the future whenever that will come out :P (cause when it comes to PC gaming, I usually only buy it when it has all the content released while on consoles, I tend to buy games without all DLC most of the time - only exception was Smash bros (which came in a bundle but I did buy all DLC) and Marvel VS Capcom 3).

Hopefully you play the game soon. The mid term and long term goal will take a few months to update id say. The short term goal regarding chapter 13 is just a minor issue. I dont know if making the ring more powerful would make it better. It would just make it more easier

I have already been playing for two hours now but it's bedtime. Won't go into the 90's by the critics.
As in a previous thread predicted, 83.

First time i get my pre-order this early.

Gonna eat my cookie now.

(game deserves higher though so far)
