We need a rival who is a dickhead again, tired of these bland friend types.

Team Skull's Gladion is a huge dickhead. If he was more in the story, I wouldn't mind kicking his ass as I watch his emo self suffer and whine

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

Can I still soar through the skies with my Pidgey though?

This game is so much better than X/Y it's not even funny. How metacritic rates X/Y over Sun and Moon is beyond me.

X/Y is like a 4 at best. Sun and Moon are an 8.

Better graphics, better Pokémon designs and backstory (although X/Y had good designs as well), much better story, better overworld, more post-game content, better animations, more innovation, more variety in gameplay (although they can still improve a lot on this part imo), better support characters, better villain team, no more HMs, Pokémon ride is amazing (although can still be expanded on a lot and improved greatly in futue games), etc.

Only the framerate is worse in Sun and Moon than in X/Y.

I don't even remember any of the "friends" that accompanied us in X/Y, holy shit were they terrible. I only remember that one fat guy with an ugly haircut. Hau isn't all that great either, but at least I won't forget him. Gladion and Lillie are all-right.

And what the fuck was X/Y's story even about? Killing everyone because they're not beautiful except him and his gang? That Lysander guy was probably the ugliest motherfucker in the game, besides the fat guy with the ugly haircut of course. And the region didn't scream France to me. It takes more than an Eiffel Tower and a couple of croissants to make something French. Alola truly feels like Hawaii. Best region for sure.

That would be amazing if the rumored Stars version had a post-game in Kanto.

So another poor rival? Well the last time we had a good one was gen 2 so I`m kinda used to that.

Disappointed that you mention Kanto callbacks though. Just seems like GF tried to go for gen 1 nostalgia way too hard for me. Wouldn`t have minded some, but it just seems over the top. If they wanted that many callbacks to older stuff then they really should have done some for the other gens and not just 1, wouldn`t feel so forced that way and would actually have some variety.

As for surf, does it still work? Like when you get the TM and teach one of your pokemon surf can you still ride them? Or are you only able to use official ride pokemon and not your own?

I wouldn't call Hau the real rival. Someone else comes in and is much more in line with Silver.

Also there's a lot of multi gen call backs. An entire town was settled by Johto residence and it shows. Johto and Sinnoh -as well as a dab of Unova and Kalos get referenced.

You only use the official PokeTransport. Using HMs is illegal in Alola -no I'm not making that up. Thats official lore in the game XD

I'm only on the second island, so my thoughts might change, but so far I've found the callbacks to previous gens to be less one-sided than in X/Y.

X/Y was no more nostalgia-dependent than any previous gen. This one took a bit too far. Alolan forms are only of Gen1 pokemon. Your character comes from Kanto. You get to battle Blue and Red. Theres a character that's named Oak, thats pofessor Oak's cousin and look exactly like him with a tan!!! Like wtf

The character from XY is implied to have come from Kanto/Hoenn. And in R/S your character is from Johto. That's nothing new. You can battle Red and Blue in Black and White 2 as well. As for Oak, at least he isnt Oak. Oak was in every Pokemon game until Gen 5. Alolan forms, I agree with. The rest seems like nitpicks that have been prevalant in most Pokemon games.
