Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo doesn't need to make new IP's, they need to manage their current ones

I would like to see more of Punch-Out!!, Metroid, Kid Icarus and some other older IPs, but does anyone really want a new Duck Hunt, Brain Age, Pilot Wings or Art Of Balance?

I think they should bring back a few older IPs and make new ones.

Given that old school is in right now, a Duck Hunt revival could have the power to pluck at a few heartstrings...

And Pilotwings is a good property to have in their repertoire for the sake of variety...

They could go with the Pilotwings Resort approach and make it a simple content-light series that would work well as inexpensive eShop titles, or they could go with the (slightly) more realistic and substantially more difficult approach of the first two games...

The Wii U was heavy on platformers; they need to show that they are capable of more with the Switch...

Indeed. I wanna see a new Punch-Out, but where you get to play as the other boxers in multiplayer modes, a Donkey Kong RPG, or even a GoldenEye-esque first-person-shooter.

I would like another Brain Age... xD

Though I think that lends itself to be a mobile title.

Yeah, it could be big on mobiles I guess.

Maybe not as big as it once was but I'm sure a decent amount of people would purchase it to warrant a release.  Same could be said about Nintendogs or a puzzler like Pushmo.  Shouldn't be hard to port or reuse some of the same assests.  Hell, I'm sure Dr. Mario or Luigi would even sell on mobile.  Games that can be played in little bursts and I believe a lot of their eshop titles could be successful on android and ios.

I loved starfy but it wasn't a big seller, starfy is pretty much a hidden gem Kirby game, i doubt it's coming back

One franchise i hope Nintendo never brings back are the Mario & Donkey Kong series, those games suck and no one cares about them anymore

Mario and Donkey kong games got boring too quickly in my opinion.

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.
