Of Course they can, but they hadn't done that until now, and actual Lego Zelda or Lego Mario games would be great marketing for actual Zelda or Mario Lego toys and that would definitely pushed them to do that.

There zero sense you will see any Nintendo IP on other consoles, unleast Nintendo planing go 3rd party.

That would make more sense at least. Try to reach people on other platforms.

There is no sense at all to play any game on other consoles that have IP of Nintendo. You can say same thing about Nintendo releasing any their games on other consoles, "try to reach people on other console", that basically means Nintendo losing exclusivity and biggest reason to own their console.

Exclusive games/content make console more attractive for people who dont have those games/content on other consoles, not by making exclusive things multiplatform.
