Forums - Politics - Trump supporters finally realizing they've been conned

The campaign he wanted to do. He wasn't getting the money he wanted from NBC to re-up for the Apprentice. Then he got through the primaries by saying crazy stuff and and he could see building a TV/cult personality brand from all the supporters he was getting. He can smell a business oppurtunity from 2 miles away. He didn't expect to actually win though.

This is like flirting with a girl, having a fun one-night stand, but then fast forwarding to her becoming pregnant. There's a huge lot of baggage there now that perhaps one didn't bank on getting into.

And you're right he doesn't need this, but I disagree about this being for the "right" reasons. He's an oppurtunist sales-man who has gotten himself in way over his head and now is going to have do something he has no experience or training for, which is going to require a level of thought, research, scrutiny, and work ethic he is not accustomed to. There is not much glamour in the day to day mechanics of actually being a politican, and yes he is a politican now.

The other thing that concerns me about him is he doesn't seem to have any conviction on many of his positions. One day he's a hard liner, the next day depending on who's around him, he's suddenly "Teddy Bear Trump" and wants to be liked. I don't believe he has the mental I.Q. for this job in the most blunt terms. He's a giant baby that needs to be coddled, even his own advisers said that he would not listen to their advice unless he heard it through the TV, because he's obsessed with TV coverage. So they would have to "leak" things to TV reporters so they would report it back to Trump to get him to listen.

I gotta agree. To me it seems like he was bluffing and America called his bluff. He is already disinterested in being president and he is using the office to further his own business interests. Oddly enough this might be the best case scenario. At best we can pray for a lame duck presidency. At worse it will be either civil or world war.

Civil war? World war? Wow, the media really did a number on you.

Nah. Its as easy as seeing the writing on the wall. Lets revisit this in a year.

Because the media had that perfect 20/20 vision when they saw his presidency comming for years.

Politicians lying is pretty standard fare. The vast majority do it. Don't act surprised trump did too.

Its a different story though when his campaign was about how crooked Washington is and how he is going to drain the swamp. It flies right in the face of what he was supposedly about.

nah it's the same. at the end of the day a polition was just smarter about how he lied. i think thats why only ~100m people vote. most of the country just oesn't care. and who can blame them. vote for liar #1 or liar #2.

*sigh* i have to agree with you. A lot of Trump voters supported him knowingly. They might have hoped for the best, but were definitely not oblivious to his faults. Except, maybe, the most passionate ones. I bet that for most people, his election was not about who was the best candidate but the lesser of two evils.

So one campaign promise broken, and its over? Lol.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

More like five or six already (lobbyists in, billionaire donors into key positions, not prosecuting his Clinton buds, not being a petty ass hat on Twitter, etc.), the first few of many.

One? He has already waffled on the wall, the deportation force, repealing Obamacare, jailing clinton, and draining the swamp. Pretty much everything he campaigned on he has already abandoned.

LOL this video just show some people very frustrated by the result and still frustrated after. This reminds me of the Play Station fans trying to fake-pity the Xbox owner when someone does not happen on the Xbox (like the ADR1FT game :)) I do not think Trump supporters are the ones complaining to be honest.

This whole election definitely showed one thing to me:
- Those people who cried like crazy about Trump for his "intolerance" are now showing how much hypocrites they are by showing actually way more intolerance, calling for recount, wanting the Electors to actually vote for someone else, etc... This is very refreshing and funny to watch to be honest.

Those people who were so outraged by Trump when he said he would maybe not support the winner...

And no, I'm not a Trump supporter (neither Clinton); I think both candidate were just really bad.
