lol
I almost got Battlefront, but then I remembered everyone's hatred for it and my general lack of time for another multiplayer game (time that is currently being spent in Overwatch and Guild Wars 2). I really only have time for games with a good singler player campaign, which battlefront lacks, but battlefield 1 apparently has (but it is still more than I want to spend).

VR will be a fad if companies don't put AAA content on it. If they don't push it as far they can, it will die a slow death. If they make Call of Duty or Uncharted for VR or, at least, give the option to play the whole game in VR, the format will thrive. If it's only the home for "PS1graphics" style games and gimmicky party games, it won't. I see a new $20 game like Carnival Games every few days. I don't see games like Robinson: The Journey nearly as often. We'll have to see if games like Resident Evil 7 make an impact. And goddamit, Sony. Give us some sales figures! |
While I love the smaller titles (and actaully be able to keep up with them for a change) I can see what you mean. It's a bit of a problem, without big AAA shooters / rpgs the majority will stay away. If the majority stays away, those games won't come :/
Besides that, companies seem terribly afraid of motion sickness. However after you get used to it a bit, you can move around faster in Here they lie than in most modern shooters without any problems. (hold R2 to run, simply turn where you want to go, pretty much mouse look with your head) The trick is to stand up so you can freely rotate 360 degrees. However the camera can't see the move controllers with your back turned to it, so it might never really work :/
It takes a bit longer to get used to analog turning as in Robinson, yet you can get accustomed to that too. It's actually much easier than switching from mouse+kb to controller. (Took me a year before I felt comfortable with fps on consoles)
The biggest botleneck is the locked 60fps requirement. Devs don't like locked fps, it's a lot of work.
Anyway 2017 will bring Resident Evil 7 at least. Xing: the land beyond and Obduction for first person puzzle adventures, Star Trek Bridge Crew in March (was supposed to come out next week) and ofcourse GT Sport. Hopefully more will follow. I'll try holo ball next, still have plenty to continue as well.
Maybe after initial demand has been met, the entry price can be lowered to draw more people in.
