Forums - Gaming - ADR1FT Cancelled For Xbox One

I assumed this happened due to poor reviews, sales, and what not. I'm surprised it even got to the point of pre-order options on Xbox One. I heard the PSVR version was canceled as well. I guess there goes me asking if a PS Vita version is in the works. =/

Wasn't it announced for Xbox One during their E3 show? I know the game and it looked interesting, it just didn't catch my "will buy"-nerve

Nah, it was announced at The Game Awards last year, or maybe the year before that, not sure which.

Ah, indeed I thought of Ion from the DayZ creator. Wierd though, neither Adr1ft or Ion was the game I actually envisioned. There's a space game where you talk to an A.I. through sign-language... Which one is that?

First off, I am 100% certain that there are people who would buy, and even enjoy this game on Xbox. Probably not many, which as you said is likely why it got cancelled, but to suggest NOBODY wants this game on Xbox is silly.

Secondly, "garbage"? It's average Metacritic is exactly the same as Recore. Are  you upset that they bothered releasing that game on Xbox?

Yes, garbage.

Console version of ADR1FT has a metascore in the 50's, well below ReCore. Though, what metacritic matters, idk.

Yeah, I am sure there are some poor souls who would buy this game on Xbone. Now they won't, and I am happy for them. That money can go to good games. It also wouldn't bother me if every copy of Murdered: Soul Suspect magically vanished. I'm glad people don't have to play utter shit games. Hope that helps.

So what you're saying, is that someone who might buy and enjoy this game shouldn't have access to it because the reviews aren't good? That is utter nonsense. In this day and age there is no excuse for being blindsided by the quality of a game, especially a game that reviewed poorly.

Nobody makes people buy games. Simply having it on the store doesn't hurt anybody. Being a bad consumer and not doing your due diligence does, but that shouldn't mean you limit consumers choices.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

I heard good things about Recore but it was trashed for technical reasons mostly.

To the contrary, I never knew Adr1ft was released. I heard about it and assumed it was still in development prior to this thread.

So Meta score isnt the the full picture. Most importantly, not every game skipping Xbox is gonna be missed. If you want access to many games you should have multiple consoles anyhow.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending Adr1ft. I haven't played it and it doesn't look good.

My point is that at best, a game not coming to a platform is a zero sum. I agree that the Xbox One certainly didn't need this game, I also agree that having multiple platforms is best if you want access to a wide variety of games.

But the suggestion that it's a good thing that a platform isn't getting a certain game, regardless of the game, is silly.

I dunno, there is so much junk in the Steam, Xbox, and PS4 market that maybe it gets in the way of notable stuff.

Atleast its not as bad as mobile markets.

That's just a matter of making sure a store is properly curated. which I think Xbox and PlayStation already do quite well.

No, you're the only one harping on reviews. I'm not saying shit based on reviews :)

Well not every devoloper has the money devoloping their game on every platform, i hope this means a bigger and better game as a result for pc and ps

It's been out awhile on PC and PS4 IIRC. It's also shovelware garbage, IIRC.

I, for one, thank the devs for not tainting with the Xbone with this filth.

@yall A game is still a game, a game less. Whats is to celebrate about that your platform gets less games? I really dont get this mentality
