That's clearly not going to be the case. That's the whole point of the ports and consolidating their departments.

The ports wont do anything for many the few people who have played them on the WiiU. I dont see the reason for porting games if they have many more developers to make games for the Switch. Give us some new IPs or revive some older IPs instead.

Fixed. Wii U owners are irrelevant to the Switch's success. There weren't enough of them. If there were, there wouldn't be a Switch. People who didn't buy the Wii U are all who matter here.

Games still take time. More developers doesn't mean games suddenly appear by magic.

Wii U did have 3D Mario but technically at start of Wii Us 2nd year (when Wii U was already dead) while Switch 3D Mario is launch game, and we talked about launch lineup. Great launch game is totally different compared to situation where already troubled and "doomed" console gets great new game.

Yup, Switch 1st year lineup even with those partial lineup lineup and without remasters, is still stronger than Wii U lineup.

I think many could say the WiiU was dead at launch. Its easy to say 3-4 years later.

Well when new console sales around 0.5m in first 9 monts after launch, and great new and big game doesn't really change anything, when almost all 3rd parties already abandoned platform, than you definitely know that console dont look too good.

Do we want a port of a NSMB game at this point? Nope.

Do we get a new 2D Mario? Unknown.

Do we want Nintendo to spend resources on making an all-new Super Mario Maker? Nope.

I want a NSMB port+ at launch if there isn't a new (small N) SMB at launch. If Kart, Brawl and Splatoon are getting re-whatevered then I don't see why 2D Mario can't.

I couldn't care less about Mario Maker, I only mention it because I can see Nintendo take the attitude of "make your own 2d mario with the new Mario Maker port".

Its one thing what you want and totaly difrent thing what makes sense and what we will have. New 3D Mario will be launch game for Switch, there is zero sense to have 3D and 2D Mario at launch. Mario Kart, Smash Bros and Splatoon are biggest, most popular and actually systeme sellers on Wii U, so it make sense to port those games, on other hand we had to much NSMB games last to gens and Nintendo most likly changng direction with new 2D Mario game and they moving away from NSMB, so there is no point porting NSMBU that could almost call Wii NSMB HD game to Switch.

IMO we want get Mario Maker also, but I can see brand new 2D Mario game in 2018.

They didn't sell the console because the console itself was unappealing and overpriced in the first place.

And there's lack of marketing. There are some out there who still don't know what the Wii U is or what it does.

And don't forget all the people who tought/still think that it's a Wii add-on. Mario Kart and Splatoon alone weren't going to sell such a messy console.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Trine 3 in the launch window. I personally emailed the developer and asked them if it was in the works and they replied "We can't talk about that until next year" which sounds like it may exist to me. Considering Trine and Trine 2 were big hits for Wii U it makes sense.

It seems a really solid list of some games should be on Switch in my opinion

Its still one of the worst selling MK titles, MK7 has sold 14 million and is still outselling it to this day despite being 2.5 years older.

8 million is only good when comparing it to the install base of Wii U.
