If WiiU had sold 100m, 80m or even 60m then I would understand criticism for making a bunch of remasters at launch. But since WiiU sold like 13m the crazy thing would be not to make them, they weren't that crazy this time. The thing is, the line-up of new games coming in the first year is already years light from WiiU: mainline Mario + mainline Zelda (BoTW) + mainline Pokemon (Stars) + mainline Pikmin makes it already a superior first year.

Well, the problem with the Wii U was other thasn simply draughts.Even if a great game launched, people didnt want to invest 300 in a system they deemed a bad one.So bringing the best games to the Switch is a really good idea

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

It is a good line up if you don't mind replaying most of those games again.

It's a phenominal line up if you never had access to most of those games.

that as well though the same can be said with every console that is plagued of remasters at launch.

I agree, especially with Nintendo emphasizing one of it's b-list goodies like Pikmin.

Do we get a 2D Mario port? Nope.

Do we get a new 2D Mario? Nope.

Ooooohh Mario Maker port. FU Nintendo.

Like if you were in a coma or prison?

Like if you're the average consumer.

No console plagued with remasters was preceded by one that sold worse than the Vita.

Well its nice of you to believe the Switch is already a success, but if it shouldnt take off then its us Nintendo fans that are stuck with these remasters.

You Nintendo fans already bought the Wii U, so don't bother to pretend that you have anything like high standards.

Do we want a port of a NSMB game at this point? Nope.

Do we get a new 2D Mario? Unknown.

Do we want Nintendo to spend resources on making an all-new Super Mario Maker? Nope.

I want a NSMB port+ at launch if there isn't a new (small N) SMB at launch. If Kart, Brawl and Splatoon are getting re-whatevered then I don't see why 2D Mario can't.

I couldn't care less about Mario Maker, I only mention it because I can see Nintendo take the attitude of "make your own 2d mario with the new Mario Maker port".

Problem with this argument is that Nintendo fans include the 60m who also bought the 3DS like I told Pav even if every Wii U owner had a 3DS and they decided not to buy the Switch that still leaves 48m possible consumers which is more than any Nintendo home platform except for the NES and Wii. Essentially 48m fans would not have had access to these games so to them it would be new regardless of what Wii U owners say.
