So after years of owning a 720p tv. I FINALLY decided its worth an upgrade..... I skipped the 1080p experience and went straight into 4K!! People will say I got it too soon, or I wasted my money. But I decided to get it to save me money in the future. If I'm getting a new Screen to play on, then I'd have it for atleast 5 years. I am stunned with the view! But the thing is... All I been experiencing so far is 1080p games upscaled to 4K. I am planning on upgrading my PS4 to PS4 Pro once there's more games that supports the new console and for sure be getting Project Scorpio (Been wanting a Xbox One since last year) but i can totally wait)... and that leads to Nintendo Switch... Obviously it's going to play in 720p on the tablet screen... what about the TV screen? What will be the native resolution of Nintendo Switch games?? No I am not expecting the games to run at 4K. I do expect games to run full 1080p... Is that the highest resolution The Switch is willing to go? It would be great to experience Nintendo games taking advantage of my 4K screen too.

What do you think?

Note: I KNOW the Switch won't go 4K. But I just want to ask you beautiful people for your opinions and thoughts. Have a great day!

1080p, Nintendo is not jumping to 4k gaming with this one.

Since we dont know anything about it, in theory it could be 8K or as low as 144p.But the most likely is 1080p.I just think this question is kinda pointless in the time being.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

I voted all native 4k because you provided it as an option.

Not sure why people care, Nintendo have never really been concerned about that. They have a great library that they know will sell regardless if its 1080, 720 or below. I wish more devs put more effort into building characters, world and story instead of worrying how many pixels will impress fans on their trailers.

720p for games. If the screen is 720p then I think that's the limit, demanding games will be 500-600p upscaled.

Docking might make it run faster or add AA but I don't think it will boost the resolution.

It will be capable of 4K video playback through a 4K TV.

Don't Play Stationary 4 ever. Switch!

Good news it will be able to do 4K streaming. The Shield TV can do it without issue, so if Nintendo does it right, this will too.

Gaming-wise, 1080p. This thing is not near powerful enough to do any 4K.

I am with you though. I just mounted my Samsung 65KS8000. Upgraded from a 58" Panasonic 720p Plasma from 2007. HUUUUUUUGE difference!

1080p for most Nintendo games ( they're pretty close to that on Wii U). Third party titles, especially ports, will do 720. When the SCD is released, they'll push 4k

Well it seems you are already behind the times... the Switch will play all games in 8k resolution at 100 fps with 3D and headset-free VR. It has smellivision 2.0 natively and the dock will massage your feet when not charging the 22 hour battery of the 4k mini BluRay player/handheld HD screen. Throw your iPhone away too, because the left joy-con IS a 5G phone with stun-ray mugger disabler. I saw a rumor on the webnets...and Nintendo didn't deny it.
