Forums - Gaming - What is the best Tony Hawk game?

i LOVED tony hakw ps2 for ps1. i wanted to hump it lol jks.

3 sucked

4 was awesome

underground 1 was the best one ever im sorry. it brought teh ability to finally walk, and have a story mode. the story mode was sexy, but i hate that bitch eric lol.

from then, the Phailed to an extent with underground 2, and Epicly Phailed with teh rest of the games, specially downhill jam (ROFLLMAO)

then EA made skate. (360 version) and skateboarding games made a change for good.

I thought the first one was the best but Skate is the best skating game this generation.

The first one was okay, but it wasn't until they added manuals in 2 that it became a masterpiece. The introduction of reverts in 3 also massively improved the gameplay, and the open-world environment of 4, coupled with the introduction of spine-transfers and flatland tricks made it the absolute pinnacle of the series.

Since then, the series has deteriorated somewhat. I disagree with you about the walking part. Being able to walk around is not a problem, but being able to do it in the middle of a combo is a massive gameplay defect. It just feels like cheating.

Subsequent attempts to reinvigorate the gameplay, such as "nail a trick" have been weak and only served to detract from the core gameplay mechanic.

I don't expect the series will ever return to it's glory days. And Skate is no substitute either.

I got Tony Hawk pro skater 2, 4 and underground 2.

2 on the N64, it totally rocked!

4 on the Gamecube, that was awesome too!

Underground 2 on the Gamecube, moderately good but not outstanding i.m.o!

I'd go with 2 just because of the nostalgia... But i guess technically and in gameplay etc... 4 is the best!

THPS3. 4 had some nice improvements to the gameplay, but the levels weren't near as addicting as 3.

THUG was the best, i didnt care for any of the other ones

THPS2 was the pinnacle. 3 was good also.
