Forums - Microsoft - Project Scorpio Will be a Success Because Pachter Says Otherwise.

So now power isn't a factor anymore?  What about the 3 straight years of 50% more power?  720/900p vs 1080p?  That goes out the window now that Sony will be the weaker of the 2?

When the PS4 launched it's library was embarrassing.

The reason why I (and I'm sure many others) switched from Xbox to PlayStation at the launch of this new generation wasn't because of the library, it was because the multiplatform games all looked and preformed better on Sony's console and they still do.

I bought a PS4 Pro on launch day for the same reason.

The Scorpio gives people like me, and many others, a reason to go back to Microsoft and experience the games we've missed over the past 4 years.  That alone I think will make the Scorpio a successful console (As long as they don't price it out of the market).

I know that this is a very anti Xbox forum, but let's be real here.  If the PS4 had been 50% weaker than the Xbox One at launch, things would have played out very, very differently.

Price and games were always the major point, actually, the PS4 is the very first console being the most powerful on its gen and also selling the best, that never happened up until now, it took 8th generations.
PS1 and PS2 were weaker than the competition, N64 and GC where both cheaper AND stronger and still lost miserably.
Price does play a major role, and games even more, but power? Power was always a plus, not a driving force.

Times have changed.

Third party games back then were NOTHING like they are today.

The best selling games for Microsoft and Sony year in and year out are multiplatform.

GTA, CoD, Battlefield, Assassins Creed, Fallout, etc. are the games that everyone wants and with them available on both Xbox and PlayStation, why not get the machine that's going to make them look better and run smoother?

You think Bloodborne, Driveclub, Infamous, all these games with less than a 5% attach rate are the reason why PS4 is crushing Xbox?  Get real.

The biggest games are better on PlayStation and that's why it has sold almost 50 million units in 3 years.

I'm not saying games like Uncharted, The Show, Killzone and other great exclusive games don't sell systems, but it's nothing like the monster titles created by companies like Activision and EA.

Back in the 90s and early 2000s the biggest titles were exclusives.  Today they're not.

Can someone make a thread of all of Patchers silly goofs? It would be a really entertaining read.
