Not at all. I bought the Wii U in 2012 and I've had sooo much time playing with family, friends, brining it to school and by myself. |
And if you have a Wii U you can play Zelda months sooner.

I can read you like an open book, Pavo. You secretly desire Nintendo to delay Zelda and cancel the WiiU version to burn them at the stakes.

We know Zelda was not delayed because of polishing. We don't have to do the same dance every time. Also, this time we don't know how much people is willing to upgrade and buy the Switch version considering how they did on Wii U. |
So why do you think Zelda is not on launch!? IMO at least one delay was because of Switch, but after delay Zelda team decide to use that extra time and make even more impressive game. Rumour is saying that Zelda can't be finished on time for Switch launch.
Actually it's not that important at all how much Wii U owners plan to upgrade to Switch because there are only 13m Wii U owners. Wii U is huge faile and people are vere aware of that, they are aware because of that it has shorter life and that Zelda is delayed because of Switch. But reality is if Switch is apeling platform they will buy it, almost no one really will say "they delayed Zelda because Switch so I will not buy Switch", if you pay attention you will see that your are actually only one who rant here about all this Zelda thing.

They can't delay any further than 2017. Or at least I want to believe. Back in 2014, I already predicted something similar to the current situation, ending with the game coming exclusively to the new hardware.
If what you are saying is right, I will just bump the thread and blame anyone who was not listening. But not Nintendo. This time not.

"No Zelda. No Switch." is a more common sentiment around the web than you would expect.

Yes, but fact is that Zelda is coming to Switch, and Switch on launch will sell good in evre way becuse hard core Nintendo fans will buy it on launch in evre way (just look Wii U launch sales numbers despite weak launch lineup), so having Zelda few monts after Switch launch (maybe May) will not relly change anuthing, people who said that will buy Switch because Zelda will buy it when Zelda is out. So we can expect good sales of Switch when its launched and when Zelda is released also.

May is not what I think when I read the word several in the OP. Even more when Laura could have told summer or, like in the case of Mario Kart, near launch.
Anyway. The launch is not a problem. The problem is what it comes afterwards, which I'm not expecting to be very good with a bunch of ports and having their bigger game until later in the year. Any positive effect Zelda could have as a system seller could have been bigger during launch. But I'll wait and see.

She said 4-6 months of localisation and testing after December, end of May fits in that.
New 3D Zelda comes after launch and offcourse there will be some new games also, Pokemon, Pikmin 4, new IP, Retros games, Next Levels Games game, some 3rd party exlusive like W101 or Bayonetty (Beyond good and Evil 2!?)....we relly dont know, we will know for sure on 12. January, but Nintendo said they aiming for very strong 1st year lineup without droughts, and Emily is reporting same thing. I agree that Zelda BotW like launch title would have bigger effect on launch but 3D Mario is very strong launch game also, and you can't really do anything about that if game cant be finished on time, whenever Zelda BotW is launched it will gave huge boost in sales, luckily only few months after actual Switch launch we will have Zelda finally.

Laura Dale said several months after launch. Nothing about summer or 4-6 months.
