Microsoft bankrolls new wind farm to power its Cheyenne datacenter and plans to plug its backup generators into the grid

. Microsoft has signed its largest wind deal yet, to give it 237 megawatts of wind energy to power its datacenter in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The new wind deal brings Microsoft's total investment in US wind energy projects to 500 megawatts, and takes it a step closer to building a "responsible cloud", said Brad Smith, president and chief legal officer at Microsoft.

Microsoft Cloud, powered by Wind.

Oh, I'm gonna be making puns on this for years to come!

PS Of course I am kidding. I know a few years ago they were working to make it run cooler with less energy. Good Job Microsoft.
