What about you d21lewis, you have had VR for like two weeks now. Is the excitement wearing off at all yet?

How do you imagine you and PS VR a few months from now, do you think you will launch the device several times per week and play it in any longer sessions? Will you feel excitement and that sense of immersion you have described? Or do you think the same can have happened to you like the guys above described, where the excitement just isn't there and you just want to play regular games on a 2D monitor?

Nope. Still loving it. Last time I gamed, it was VR. Still loving it. The feeling of "I am actually in this game" hasn't worn off, yet. The only problem is that I have so many games that I jump between them every few minutes.

And my Pro somehow has no record of my earlier gameplay in Until Dawn. My budget for new games has been spent but I'm tempted to buy The Eagle Flight and Robinson. AND Flower isn't even made for VR but I recently played through it with the headset on.  Still loving it!

Fabulous news! It's so hopeful that you're still feeling it.

I'm very excited about VR but I don't know yet if I'll buy a HTC Vice or a PS VR or if I'll just wait. Vivster is making me freaking nervous that they'll soon announce some next gen VR that is clearly better and you know how we all hate that feeling when something all of a sudden becomes obsolete.

Damn it, it's that "I am actually in this game" I want to experience so bad. I just can't believe it, that something really could be able to give such a feeling. It's such a dream of mine.

How many VR games do you have in total? Not including free games and games with VR support that you would have bought anyway.

Are they all digital? Is digital the way to buy VR games?

This reminds me of when games really first started going 3D. The end goal, though few knew it back then, was Mario 64; it was a long, rough journey getting to that point, though. With VRs case, we're looking for the game that figures out how to smoothly let you move around freely without being restricted to a vehicle cockpit or devoting a big empty room to VR. Years from now we'll laugh at the various attempts at free movement, like the awkward teleport we're using now.

I buy everything digital these days. Your mileage may vary.

I bought PSVR Worlds, Batman VR, Until Dawn Rush of Blood, Bound, and Here They Lie. There was a ton of free content, too. I may be buying a couple more games soon--but I really need to curb my spending for a while. I've still been buying regular games and even a new TV and a Pro, too.

I hope you can demo it or know a friend with it.

VR gen 3 is gonna be amazing. I hope they hurry up with the development.

Could you elaborate? By gen 3 you mean that we're currently in gen 2, right? That HTC Vice, Oculus Rift and PS VR are generation 2.

How do you imagine generation 3?

We're currently gen 1. Gen 2 will have nothing more but higher resolutions a few small optimizations and maybe bigger screens for bigger FOV.

Gen 3 has the chance for going wireless completely and even more upped resolution and FOV.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

New games this week on psn (all from PC)

- Time Machine VR, Cringe worthy trailer, meta 58, $30 for 2-3 hours.
Doesn't look very exciting, user score 8.1 yet only out of 6 reviews...
- The Martian VR experience, 20 minute experience for $20, overall negative reviews on Steam
These lousy experiences are not going to help VR....

One more I'm actually interested in:
- Space Rift episode 1, no critic reviews yet, overall positive reviews on Steam.
Looks like an interesting story based game. $20 for just the first 2 hour episode though. (-20% with ps+)

Bad week with these short and quick cash in games. At least Space rift still looks interesting, I'll probably get it, hopefully future episodes will be more fairly priced. First I need some sleep, annoying!

Being honest. Tried out the Batman Arkham Playstation VR thing and it really is mind fucking blowing. One of the most mind blowing game experiences I've ever had, up there with playing Super Mario 64 the first time. 4K this and 4K that, hybrid consoles, etc. etc. all these things are a distant small potatoes change compared to what VR is. It's just very early because all of the wires and you can tell the tech will be better with better screen resolution and more horsepower, but yeah I was floored. VR is for real.

you are entitled to your opinion, but it doesn't apply to me. Could care less about vr.. I've used it for business, pleasure , and masterbation... I'm not sold. In It's current state it sucks.. Good luck though. We tried this 20 years ago and it hasn't improved much....

Refresh my memory. When we tried this 20 years ago, what was it called? And please don't say Virtual Boy.

Honestly i don't care for most current VR games, limited movement in many games i'm interested in sucks and tons of games i play don't really benefit from VR.
VR looks quite shitty on a standard PS4 at least with more demanding games like Robinson. And most games are extremely limited.
Being impressed lasted for the very few minutes i played Robinson some months ago. It was a pretty flat experience though.
Havin no body or hands without arms destroys immersion for me.

Right now, VR is interesting but at the same time extremely lacking. And honestly, i just donÄt want to play so 'cut off' from the real world for the whole time.

Forte VFX-1 for example. Not the only headset.

Virtuality arcade machines.

Quite interesting. Forte VFX worked alright with some PC games, was extremely low res though. Never got my hands on that virtuality stuff but back then it was called a great experience. And it's more like 25 years old.
