This reminds me of when games really first started going 3D. The end goal, though few knew it back then, was Mario 64; it was a long, rough journey getting to that point, though. With VRs case, we're looking for the game that figures out how to smoothly let you move around freely without being restricted to a vehicle cockpit or devoting a big empty room to VR. Years from now we'll laugh at the various attempts at free movement, like the awkward teleport we're using now.
