Forums - Microsoft - Spencer: Our Games Line-Up This Year Had an Incredible Reception from Gamers Everywhere

Well, it did have some amazing games released in it, and wether the all games are quality games are debatable(Recore for example), one thing that I will give to Phil is that he has done an excellent job.I myself am considering buying a XBox One, but only when it is dirty cheap(150 dollars or less), and considering how prices are falling, it may not take that long. And as a gamer that never had an Xbox, that is impressive.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Was disappointed in Quantum Break, mostly because of how dreadfully slow the movement speed is, but I will still finish it eventually.

Other games this year were amazing. Horizon 3 is easily the best racer this gen and probably my favorite racer since either the first Motorstorm or Burnout 3. Just wish I had more time to play it, but honestly I'd rather play online games than play through single player racers nowadays. Recore is incredible.. best platformer in years. Haven't played Gears 4, single player looks good, but will wait for it to be dirt cheap since the MP is walled behind microtransaction bullshit. Dead Rising 4 looks like crazy fun like DR3 was.

Not every exclusive was a 90+ metacritic blast but I think the exclusives still were well made and generally well received by fans. Not a ton of sales however, specially for games like ReCore. Hopefully they keep putting out good exclusive content

How is the Gears 4 walled behind MTs? I've been playing it since launch and haven't had any issues. Are you talking about weapon skins and emblems?

Forza Horizon 3 agrees! Overall, pretty good year for MS, released some new IPs, and had the best holiday lineup. Things are looking up for MS exclusive wise!

Bring on 2017!!!

Only things walled behind microtransactions in Gears 4 are those e-sports support black steel skins. And you obviously get no advantage using those. If anything, Gears is an example of microtransactions done right, they are only cosmetic items and you van unlock everything by playing. I think you have been misinformed by those geniuses from Gears forums.

Also the users on metacritic. And the users on open critic (assuming I'm reading it correctly).  Plus several users on this website.

Using the xbox store won't give you an accurate scoring for xbox games. Just like using the Playstation store won't give you an accurate scoring for Playstation games.

I disagree. Metacritic user reviews are inherently broken for exclusives, because fanboys of other consoles post fake reviews, and there is no moderation of their user reviews section to weed out the fakes. Xbox Store actually requires somebody to own the game in order to rate it, and therefore I think it's the most reliable way to judge what those who played the game thought of it.

Yep! Thats right!
