10 of my friends who own both 360 and PS3 consoles and were going to buy GTA IV on 360 because they thought it would be better. Now seeing the reviews they will now be getting PS3 GTA IV instead.

Starcraft, you talk as if T2 is a second party developer for MS. R* will end up doing whatever they want to with their IP. They advanced them the money to make the DLC which means they have to pay it back they didn't buy the company.
I do agree that any DLC for the PS3 that involves story missions will not be exclusive. Much in the same way I believe that any DLC microsoft gets involving story mission will not remain exclusive to them. Likely each will have the same core modes with each recieveing Home and Live exclusive content respectively. There is just too much money to be made between both systems for either one to get shorted for any length of time.

Because you told them the 360 version looks like a cartoon and forgot to mention the difference is slight lol
Do people think it is likely the eventual PC version will have the exclusive DLC?

You realize that regardless of how much money T2 might have made selling the Exclusive DLC on the PS3, they signed a contract with Microsoft which they can't break right? |
I take it you know the contents on that contract right?
Seems like people have short term memory, when GTA 3 came out, everybody and their mama were saying that Sony paid for exclusive rights to the game and blah blah blah, I even remember reading that if you wanted to play it, you had to get a PS2 as it was exclusive to it.....6 months or so later, we have the game coming out on XBox.
Oblivion and Eternal Sonata on Xbox 360 were the same thing, as was Assassin's Creed and DMC4 on PS3.
We don't know the contract, we don't know what its specifics are, bottom line is in the Spring of '09 we could ( <---- keyword) see the same DLC that the 360 got appearing on the PS3, or we could (<---- keyword)see some new DLC that appears first on the PS3, or we could (<---- keyword) see no DLC for the PS3. We just don't know.
Not that I care anyways, it's very rare for me to pay for DLC, it has to be worth it, 10 dollars for 4 maps (CoD4), 12 dollars for 2 huge maps (Warhawk), 30 dollars for 30 extra hours of gameplay and huge side mission (Oblivion), etc...are not worth it to me. DLC should be nice and cheap because honestly it should've been included in the game. The only game I'll ever consider overpaying for DLC is GT5 if they have some real nice cars or tracks that I would have to try, but I'm hoping PD is nice enough to me....well I'm rambling now, so I'll stop.
Hum...I think I might get it for PS3. It would be my first GTA purchase ever.

Anyone else getting sick of the console wars? It has ruined this forum, NeoGAF, and well practically every videogame forum on the net. Who cares if a game has 600P or 700p? 99.9% wouldn't have known anyways. Who cares if the framerate of a game slows down slightly when there's mass chaos on the screen? Who cares if a game ends up coming out on another system, does knowing people are playing it on another system somehow make the game worse?
It's gotten so childish that it's hard to believe there are actually a fair number of adults that post on these forums. I admit I got caught up in it and now I look back and realize how much time I wasted on something so idiotic. I could have been actually doing constructive things but I chose to discuss such ridiculous topics. I can't get that time back but I know I won't be wasting any more of it on such nonsense.
So long.
