Trump has been serious about wanting to take the reins and fix America for years. I never had any doubt he was 100% making a run at the white house. What surprised me was that he was actually able to over throw the norm. Many successful Americans have tried to take their skills to Washington through the years, but very few have been successful.

Now that he has been elected, I think he is going to take it even more seriously. He has to prove that you don't have to be a royal family to run the country. I hope he can open the door, to more successful people from other backgrounds to making it to commander and chief. There may be hope for America still.

A debt free, profitable, and united America is something I hope to see in my life time.

This is one good thing that can come from Trump's election.  For the first time in...crap, over a century probably, it seems the door is open to non-politicians to go for the White House.  Will be interesting to see if and how this shakes up Washington.

Reagan already proved this. That didn't change much. Besides, it's not like Trump wasn't born into a family of wealth and had a few billions to back him up. Running for president is still for a select few. Not that there's something wrong with that, I don't think any random person on the street is fit to be president, but I also don't think the only people fit for the presidency are celebrities and people who have been practicing politics in Washington for 2 decades or more.

If you thought he was just running as a joke, you don't know your candidates. In the last 30 years Donald Trump has been trolling at a run. He almost ran as a 3rd party candidate until he found out they were a joke of a party. He's always had comments about the way America has been ran. There are several articles and live interviews of Trump being interviewed and his stance on all the issues he's brought up in this presidential race. Way before he even announced his candidacy he spoke about borders, jobs going to foreign lands, weak leaders. He's always been asked by journalist when he was going to run and his answer was always, "No." Until he finally said "yes".

Well Reagan was Governor of California for 8 years prior to his Presidency so he still had to kiss the ring.  But for quite a long while that's been the way of things, either politicians or military veterans.  I don't think just anyone can be President either, but I don't think it should be as narrow.  Though the other issue is that these alternatives have to actually run.  Many just don't want to.

The thought had crossed my mind. Even after the escalator ride, that heinous escalator ride, and into the the campaign.

Indeed, but in retrospect Hilary made a lot of bad moves.

Like being corrupt, lying, lying to cover up lying, wanting to continue the policies of president much of the country hates, too much hobnobbing with celebrites, shameless pandering to minorities, selecting a douche for vice president because he spoke spanish, attacking voters for not supporting her, etc. She left this election looking vile.

Trump made the same moves. You can't accuse Hillary of lying when Trump would contradict himself with everything he said to the point that the interviewers would call him out and he would flat out deny having said that.

Trump did a lot of pandering to minorities, let's not kid ourselves. And as if Trump's VP wasn't a bigger douche. One who would deny Trump said what he said. They didn't even have proper communication.

If anyone who should be accused of attacking voters, it's Trump. Let's be real.

Trump won simply because idiocracy is on the rise. You don't win with arguments any more. It's all about the "sick burn, bruh".

You can argue both lied, but the lies of HIlary should arguably land her in prision. Flip flopping has certainly been a valid complaint on Trump and HIlary as well. But I think he'll be a moderate president but you be aggressive on a few things like illegal immigration and perhaps other crimes.

I don't really feel Trump pandered to minorities, some would argue his campaign attacked them. Pointing out the problems with Mexico's illegal immigration and violence in black communities is the opposite of pandering to minorities. He didn't carry hot sauce and change his accent in different cities.

I'm referring to the Vice President debate, Pence came off classy comapared to his competition. Tim Kaine is unbelievably obnoxious. Objectively a douche.

Idiocracy is on the rise? That's how I feel about the left.
