#41 - Shovel Knight

I was extremely excited when I found out about Shovel Knight. 16 b... ehrm, 8-bit classic gameplay, hard, creative, and a throwback to some games that I love, yet didn't experience as much as others. Did it deliver? Not entirely, but it is a blast to play. It also holds, hands down, THE best modern chiptune in a videogame, and nothing will ever challenge it. Every single tune unique, phenomenal, and with their own theme, fitting both the level and boss in them. Gameplay is... where it falls just short. Your main weapon, being a shovel, is pretty limited in range and options. Death are commonly unfair and annoying, since you take fixed knockback from any and every hit, so you can easily fall off an endless pit. Thankfully, you can use a multitude of secondary weapons, with tons of variety. One breaks blocks of sand in succession, one let's you fly for a distance, another gets you invinsibility for a tiny period of time, and like 8 more! The story is just fine, and the characters are great. Overall a joy to play, except for when you die... a few times.

#40 - F-Zero (SNES)

Two great soundtracks in a row? Funny. Anyway, not much to say about this one. For a racing game limited to singleplayer, no items, no online... It's pretty addictive. Maybe it's the difficulty, the different cars you can use, or just fun. There's not much to do in it, and I still played it more than some Wii U games *cough* Also, I like old games, ok?

Hint #39: "All you had to do was follow the damn train, __!"

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

And that's GTA: SA!

#40. Mega Man 2

Something always drew me back into Mega Man 2. Is it because it was the first one I played? The most familiar one? I'm not sure, but it's a game that I've played to death in the past decade and it's a nice way to unwind by killing a few hours. Mega Man 2 manages to keep an consistent level of quality with good level design, music,  enemies & bosses, art, weapons (yes even outside the Metal Blades). It's just simple and fun, and that's all I could ask from it.

Two new hints:

#38: After four games, this franchise could hardly be considered new anymore.

#37: Many people tried to preorder the Wii version, but they never got the game...

39- Super Castlevania IV

Definitely my favorite classic-style Castlevania game. The leve; design was above anything the NES games had to offer, the controls were amazing and you could MOONWALK! How awesome is that?!

38: New Super Mario Bros. U

37: Something that was cancelled.

38 Right!

37: No, this game was not cancelled (not even the Wii version, since you can't cancel something that never began development...)

Pikmin 3?

If it's not that, what were the original hints?

Sorry, I meant "new" as in " hints of new games", so this are the original hints.

About #37, it's not Pikmin 3. As I've said to S. Peelman the Wii version wasn't cancelled, since it never began development... And those who "tried" to preorder the game knew it. :p

Didn't see S.Peelman had already answered, lol, dammit.

Muhaha, credit is mine.

Nay? A second hint it is then.

#39: In Europe, the name of this game implies it to have something to do with Greek mythology, but in the Americas it just sounds diabolical.

Hint 2: One of the puzzles indeed was pretty diabolical, not in theme but it took me some to realize that it was a fountain that if filled with water reflects the top part, so the answer was 13-8.
