Hint 20 - It seems I've fallen far down and can't get back up. I guess I'll just take the long way and make some weird friends along the way. Or, you could just kill them all...

Hint 18 - Move to the beat of the music and smash on those steps, but not the usual up, down, left, right ones... It's similar to another game, but comes from Korea instead.

Hint 17 - Step up to the stage and show off your best moves. Hit those steps to the beat and bask in the cheers of the crowd around you.... if there is anyone watching.

#24 - Shadow of the Colossus

This game is actually a pretty mixed bag for me. But I do like it enough to have it up here. The camera sucks, and controls are clunky and really hard to get used to. And, as mZuzek may know, I found the story (specifically the end) not my cup of tea. Nevertheless, it's a fantastic game (both gameplay and artistically wise [one of the few games I will admit can belong to art]). Simple put, the feeling of loneliness in a beautiful, empty, dead land is just great. Running around and finding very different areas is a simple adventure in itself. But what makes (or breaks) the game is the combat. Fighting and climbing giant monsters, taming them, learning their patterns and how they react to your attacks gives a phenomenal connection between the player and the enemy. And at the end when you. yourself, become a colossi and feel the struggle and difficulty, being defenseless... it's freaking genious. The soundtrack is also fantastic!

#23 - Paper Mario

... I actually don't know what to say about this one. I like turn-based RPGs, the companions (and their gimmicks) are a great mechanic. Combat is pretty interactive, rather than just watching animations. Cool soundtrack, ok story, great characters and world design... Honestly, it's just decent, but I enjoy it enough.

#22 - Super Mario 3D Land

I made this thread a while ago. I made mostly cringy threads back then...  and finally, I was actually very dissapointed in 3D World...

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

Alright, a hard one. Pretty niche and obscure in one way, but not so much in another.

#16: This game is a lot like those in a very famous turn-based strategy series, but then based on a comic mostly famous in Europe and with a few stages with gameplay of a totally different genre (like platforming) in between.

Astérix: The Gallic War

Nobody guessed 17? Ok, I'll make it easier:

#17: It's klobbering time!

#14: This franchise was adapted for the first time to 3D by the same time this game released. This game is 2D, though.

#13: An "spiritual successor" before that term was popular. It features a cooperative multiplayer, unlike its predecessor.

18 - Pokémon (Gen. 1)

These days, thanks to Pokémon GO, Pokémon craze is big again. I don’t know how big is Pokémon among kids, but back in the nineties it was really big: everybody played Pokémon, watched the anime, collected the cards and had Pokémon-themed scholar items. I had Pokémon Blue and later Pokémon Yellow (that included some changes in the story to follow the anime) and my friends had different versions. We never got to complete our Pokédex, but had a good time fighting and changing Pokémon.

One of the things that I remember is the sense of wonder that everything related with Pokémon caused on us collectively, how we discussed about our teams, about the secrets we had discovered and about the rumors we had read about (that truck had to hide something) In one of my more special gaming moments, I even got Mew! A friend of mine had met a guy in his holidays that somehow had got him (my friend described this guy as “Chinese” so maybe he was playing with a Japanese copy, or he had got it from someone else). This guy cloned Mew to my friend (by disconnecting the link cable while transferring the Pokémon – it was supposed to potentially damage your save, but the risk was worth it) and he cloned to me. It was incredible to have the best and hideous Pokémon ever, something that almost nobody was supposed to have in my country. Some years later a friend of my sister deleted my save file accidentally (He’s a nice guy and I get along well with him nowadays, but I hated him at the moment, and didn’t speak to him for many years…). Good bye Ew (for some reason this was his name) I’ll always remember you!

Well, the only other one I can think of is Metroid Fusion.

Impressive!

You are right, in one guess even.
