Oh and Grand Theft Auto is the single most overrated franchise in all of gaming.

it's overrated, but compared to other games in the same genre it's outstanding imho.

It's neither the pionner much less the creator of anything, just what made it well known.

Sony PS1 was what made CDs popular on gaming and set an standard, but it didnt pioneered or created it, as a similar example.

Seriously, people think Nintendo invented so many things that they didn't.

Anyway, if it that was the case, which it isn't, the point would still be the same, even on its own generation it had games leaps and bounds better than it, and calling it one of or the very best game of all time is just absurd, IMO of course. The exaggeration around it is huge.

As another example, a good 2D platformer as Rayman got and even better 3D game with Rayman 2 that was and still is a joy to play, that's one 5th gen 3D platformer that should be placing higher that Mario 64 on people's list and a true gem of that generation, it was also on the N64 as Banjo and Conker and it drives me sad to see N64 onwers ignore them so much compared to Mario 64.

show me another game with real 3d movement before mario 64, from the playstation or from any system. then your argument is going to be valid.

spyro the dragon on the ps1?

Omg you don't like magical music?! :o I never managed to beat the witch :(

the music is not bad at all, but I don't like it for some reason.  I just find everything annoying lol! so it's not about the gameplay, it's about the universe!

How about the new Rayman games?

Ooh, here is a good one for you: Mario 64 or Super Mario World?

Uncharted franchise
I don't see how it's any different from the order o-o.

Pretty sure it came out a year or so after Mario 64.

My favorite game ever is Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, which not only sold poorly, but is part of a genre that isn't known for amazing meta-scores.

If we're talking about other people's favorite games, I have a tough time enjoying the Uncharted games. The story and graphics are amazing, and I enjoy the parkour elements...but the gunplay has never felt very fun to me.

Probably not as controversial, but though I loved Persona 4, there are games in its own frachise I enjoyed much more.
