Forums - Gaming - Microsoft is refunding Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare PC players because no one is playing it

Few if any PC gamers want or use Windows Store. Microsoft should just throw in the towel. Sorry Microsoft no one wants to use your shitty store over Steam.

Around the Network

This is nonsense. What's the connection between the store you buy a game and the network you play it?

God bless You.

My Total Sales prediction for PS4 by the end of 2021: 110m+

When PS4 will hit 100m consoles sold: Before Christmas 2019

Yeah but it will be far less dire on comsoles. That's the point.  titanfall 2 will be very bad playerbase wise on pc. it won't be super healthy or anything on consoles but it will be far better then that at least.

I don't see it being "very bad" on PC. It won't be as big, but it will still be playable.

Titanfall 1 numbers are shocking and these will be just as bad if not worse. less players equals less active servers equals lesser experience.

It's not going to be the end of the world at the end of the day, unless you want to keep replying with new ways of calling it dire (since this has been going back and forth for more than a day now).

I didn't say it's the end of the world. Don't be taking my words out of context. My point is clear and ironically you keep replying in different ways but ultimately saying the same thing. And that's disagreeing that it's a lessor experience. How can you argue that when there will be far fewer people playing the game on pc. It's clear as day. The very low playerbase will effect the pc version more than the comsoles.

I'm not taking them out of context, dunno where that is coming from. I'm trying to say that it won't be as damning and dire as you keep making it out to be ( 3 days later).

Call it clear as day all you want, but it's not going to be a ghost town. THe console versions won't be around for 5+ years either.

Now are we going to keep going in circles for the enxt few days?, because I know this song and dance by now.

So then let me know if it happens again with these two market platforms.

Ideally, pro-consumer policy is if a customer is unhappy with a purchase, they should be able to get a refund. Unfortunately, with digital purchases, this isn't always possible but apparently, big, bad Microsoft was perfectly willing to issue refunds upon request.

Naturally, I suspect Microsoft is up to something nefarious issuing those refunds.

What are you talking about?  I'm not letting you know anything, you can read it yourself.  I don't care if you know or not.

Also, stop being being oversensitive.  Good god.  I never said it was Microsoft's policy.

My apologies pokoko. I'm just frustrated.

Even assuming splitting the playerbase was Microsoft's doing, Microsoft is also doing the right thing by refunding people and some in this thread seem to just be looking for a reason to shit on Microsoft with no acknowledgement of Microsoft doing the right thing. Why? I mean look at some of these:

"Activision split the player base significantly by separating Windows and Steam players".

Did Activision make that decision? That absolutely seems like a Microsoft decision. Why would Activision shoot themselves in the foot like that?

Why would anyone think that would be a good idea? I'd love to know if this was an Activision or a Microsoft decision.

I dont know who thought this was a good idea, but I'm leaning towards that this might have been MS decision to push gamers to use their Windows store instead. And if it truly was MS's decision then let's hope they learned their lesson; nobody uses Windows store.

Microsoft is to blame..(they're the ones giving out refunds)

Oh, I bet we could take an educated guess.....

This obbiously was a MS decision. Activition vouldnt care less as long as their game is sold.

Help me understand this: shit on Microsoft when they do the wrong thing, ignore or shit on them anyways when they do the right thing.

Hey! I resent that you know I was shitting on Microsoft even though my comment was open-ended enough that I could have been shitting on Activision. Full of resentment!

Point to where I shit on them? I said it feels like a Microsoft decision. It feels like they are shooting themselves in the foot.

Splitting them would be the wrong thing to do. Refunding them doesn't make that suddenly a good idea. It makes it the next logical move. At most it makes it "neutral" which is a far step away from "shitting on them".

Sorry. I just saw a lot of finger pointing at the opening of the thread but next to no acknowledgement of a pro-consumer decision to refund a digital purchase. Digital purchase refunds are not always a guarantee, sadly.

At least you're honest.

What right thing are we talking abouy here?

MS refunding people?

You know thats like you saying we should give someone a pat on the back for trying to rectify something they had done wrong? We won't be having this conversation to begin with if MS didn't think it was a genius idea to lock out a userbase withing the same userbase.

If what I'm doing is shitting on MS then I'll take it.... and I'll always do it. It's exactly stuff like this that makes me say I can't trust MS for anythjng. If they had their way, can anyone imagine how the gaming industry will be today?
