Film, anime, mobile spin offs, sequels.... They are going to milk the hell out of FF XV, wont they?

Ugh, I want them to be done with it.I want a turn based, high fantasy FF like the old ones, not this... Thing.

Have you tried World of Final Fantasy?

It looks a bit different and especially with the whole catching monsters theme going, but the turn base and FF magic is all there.  And if you dont mind the cute looking stuff, but nobody cares about how a game looks as long as its fun.  I'm currently playing it right now and it definitely gives me my turn-base fill.

That's why I play VI and X, now and then ;)

But I'll  be happy if the Bravely series take the FF torch in terms of turn based system.

FFX, best FF evar!!!!

But I want something new.Its great to replay old masterpieces, but I want new stories too.Thats why I hope FF XVI is a back to glory game

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Tried the demo, and I didnt like it.The artstyle, while its not really my preference, is good.I just didnt find the mirage(Pokemon) concept good, and the demo in general didnt seem good, the gameplay didnt seem that good.I dont know.I might buy it down the line, but the one that will really give me my fill and much more will be Persona 5.Cant wait for that game.

But what I really want is another ambitious FF that is excellent in everything, like FF X:Story, presentation, scope, gameplay. But I want it to be a FF.I want it to be a high fantasy setting, not a modern wanna-be.(If I wanted to drive cars I would have played GTA!)And while I dont have that big of an issue with a action battle system, I very much prefer turn based.Square probably thinks that turn based games dont sell anymore, but Persona 5 is going to come and show them, again, wrong.I mean, its already proving that in Japan.

They already said that they plan(or at least very interested in) on doing a FF XV-2 and so forth, so we wont escape that path lol

Whats your source o.O

Cause the last we heard anything about direct sequels, they said they "think" (I know its dumb PR speak) they wont have sequels.

http://www.ubergizmo.com/2016/08/final-fantasy-xv-wont-have-sequels/

Which is why we have a dozen spinoff titles on mobile, movie, anime, etc instead.

Why is this under Nintendo discussion?

OP u drunk, go 2 slp yo ;)

It was something said way earlier, closer to when the game was revealed. They said that "many stories may come out of it".The article in question(couldnt find the whole article, or thats just the whole article XD.Anyway, its from destructoid, so I guess is credible)

I think either Nomura or Tabata also said something about FF XV being a complete story, but that eventual sequels would enhance the universe or something like that.Hopefully thats not true

Edit:Just read your article, and yeah, it kinda throws the idea of having sequels out.But it was something they were planning to have way earlier.Probably changed idea since FF XV pre-orders are not doing so hot?

I think you have your numbers mixed. The best Final Fantasy to date still is VIII...

You mean thee worst . I can't stand Squall or the combat system.

Considering how well FF mobile games have been doing, I'd say that is a smart business decision. Might end up being more profitable than XV itself. With that said, I probably won't even touch it.

As a Final Fantasy fan Im not one bit interested in this, i wonder how many Final Fantasy fans actually want this?

Probably not many hardcore fans. But Mobius Final Fantasy had "over three million downloads in Japan before the end of 2015. The English version also reached one million downloads within a week, with over three million in under a month" So there is a demand for sure.

On the bright side, this will surly help the XV project to be more successful. :p

Yeah that was Nomura who planned that and I think that interview (or the mention/bringing up the ideaat least) was what costed him the  role of director and Tabata to become the new director.

If I remember right, I heard somewhere that if Nomura continued to be director, the game would have came out at least in 2017 and not this month :P - along with that have few sequels to it.

I guess with Tabata, they decided to go with the route of making spinoff games based on the lore of FFXV and have a anime/movie tie-in.

Cause the invasion scene that takes place in Kingsglaive was originally going to be in the actual game (when it was Versus XIII) but got moved to a movie.

If you saw the movie, it actually shows the Emperor of Nilfheim and King Regis which mirrored off the same scene that was shown during the Versus XIII trailer when they showed the same two characters (Regis before he became more western in design) facing off.

Either ways, I hope we dont get sequels and doesnt seem like we will though going by the story leaks that came out not so long ago since the match up with what people saw so far in the game.....so who knows.

In regards to the scene of the movie,  there is no telling if that scene might still be in the game in the form of a flash back or something.  Seems like a lot of wasted footage. I know also the game now starts off at a different point so im guessing originally that scene was shown at the start of the game.
