 Final Fantasy XV mobile MMO in development at Mobile Strike developer Machine Zone

Combining Final Fantasy XV's world with MZ technology.

Mobile Strike developer Machine Zone is working with Square Enix to create a massively multiplayer online mobile game based on Final Fantasy XV, the studio announced.  

The release window and title of the mobile Final Fantasy XV game have yet to be announced, but it will combine the characters, storyline, and soundtrack from the console game with Machine Zone’s technology, “which allows millions of people around the world to play together in a single universe in real time.”1

In a statement, Machine Zone founder and CEO Gabe Leydon said, “It is an honor to work on a franchise I have loved since I was a kid. Final Fantasy is an iconic franchise in gaming. Bringing Final Fantasy XV to the mobile MMO gaming world is a significant opportunity for our players and we are proud to partner with Square Enix.”

Square Enix president and representative director Yosuke Matsuda added, “Machine Zone has a stellar track record in the mobile gaming space and we are putting Final Fantasy XV in trustworthy hands. We are very excited to work with the MZ team to bring together two leaders in the gaming world and look forward to Final Fantasy XV on MZ’s amazing gaming platform. We’ll work together to create MZ’s next great global mobile MMO game.”

According to VentureBeat, Machine Zone has had a consistent top-five grossing game in Game of War: Fire Age for the past three years and another hit with Mobile Strike, which is currently number two on iOS in the U.S.

They are milking this like mad, and the game hasn't been released yet. If people don't like the game, SE is going to shit bricks.

Well the extra stuff isn't really important excluding the movie and the short anime series.

 

if nomura was still director - the game would have headed towards ffxiii path with two or more sequels.

They already said that they plan(or at least very interested in) on doing a FF XV-2 and so forth, so we wont escape that path lol
