1. They didn't reopen anything. The case was never "closed", they just found new evidence that may have been important, turn out it wasn't.

2. I don't think their decision has anything to do with political pressure, but I'm sure there was some motivation for them to get this cleared up before the elections. Could you imagine if Clinton lost and then the day AFTER they said everything was fine? He probably would have had to resign and may have genuinely been in legal trouble.

3. They flat out said that they had no idea what the new emails really were or if they were important in any way.

Snowden isn't running for President and doesn't have near the baggage of Clinton with the other lies/coverup. I don't think it's a direct comparison.

Just to spur on discussion a bit...

Recent statements by Rudy Guiliani in interviews made it seem as though this information was leaked to him well in advance of the timeline that Comey reported, and they may have been sitting on these new emails for longer than Comey said he knew about them.

Assuming a lot of things (and as a Canadian, I'm no expert in how Americans do stuff), if there are dissenters within the FBI who actively want to get Trump into office, Comey might have been stuck between a rock and a hard place in writing the letter he did: should Comey himself come out and write that letter, or let the info be leaked by the same FBI agents who told Guiliani?

If they were leaked by agents, it would look as though the FBI was trying to suppress negative Clinton news and was supporting her. When Comey wrote that letter, it was the reverse: it looked like the FBI was trying to help Trump. There was no winning for him.

I think the fact that there were agents (either active or retired, depending on the day Rudy is talking) leaking this information to Guiliani, that definitely needs to be investigated (the FBI agents, not necessarily Rudy).

People calling for Comey's head might be after the wrong people in this situation.

Its pretty apparent that he lost control of the whole thing. He's not listening to the DOJ who told him to follow protocol, and he isn't keeping leaks from the Trumplandia agents who are not listening to him. Hes not keeping his impartiality and neither is his agents. Time to clean house before they become a joke.

You miss the point, the comparison was made for someone who intentionally leaked info and someone who used a private email server. She wasn't the first to do this. The Bush administration did this all the time. It's nothing new. It's the only real dirt they can get on clinton so they're exposing it for what it's worth.

Ew, people actually put Hillary ABOVE Snowden? She sent classified info on a private server out of view of the gov. The info was brought into question because Congress believed it was related to her covering up a TERRORIST attack in Benghazi to help Obama get re-elected. then AFTER she was given a subpoena to hand over everything she deleted what was incriminating of her. THEN she hired people to wipe the server so no info can be recovered. She then lied to the FBI about what she deleted. these are the facts. She claims "oopsie I didn't know any better" and FBI director Comey believes it. Im sure everyone knows this here but still have to point out the absurdity of it all.

It blows my mind that this is even debatable. ofcourse she is guilty, even the FBI says she committed multiple crimes and lied under oath (yet another crime) but this whole debate is about......whether she intended to!?!?!??!
