How can PS4 being twice the userbase of X1 and the genre being more relevant in PS4, PS4 having the FF7 remake and remaster, etc make it have a lower attach ration on PS4 than X1 to achieve 60-40?

The last Final Fantasy, if I remember well, sold over 1.6-1.8 millions in Japan alone. That is a extremely high userbase in a region where the Xbox has 0 of userbase.

Well, that is part of it, So I have no idea how he expect PS4 to only have 60% of the userbase of FF XV, I can't imagine lower than 5:1

Only way that's possible is if MS buys half of them.

It's quit a simple. I think FF15 oversell MGS5 easily :D

In addition , FF13 sold 5.32mil PS3 2.15mil X360.

It will sell more than MGS5 but that doesn't mean any increase in sales for the XB1 version. These kinds of games lean alot towards PS.

About FF13.....You're talking about a time when 360 dominated huge over PS3 in the U.S. by millions and had more of a presence in Japan with higher sales, and had exclusive marketing with a bundle yet the PS3 version still sold more. Nothing of that sort has happened with XB1. PS4 is dominating every region and XB1 is basically done in Japan. If MGS5, an action shooter game which would appeal to the XB fanbase, can't sell over a million what makes you think a JRPG will? I highly doubt it. FFXV will be the most lopsided 3rd party release on PS4 and XB1.

Some people thinks that this game will receive more Xbox Sales due to being more Western than previous Final Fantasy games.

I don't agree with that. For me, this is just a modern Japanese Final Fantasy game, Open-world and Action games are not western only, look at Dark Souls.

I saw something in this thread that, in a article, Xbox users are more shooter focused and  they don't bother with Japanese games, some even think that it is weird.

Why would someone that only plays shooters or western games, like the main audience of the Xbox One, purchase a game where the  4 main characters looks like  a J/K-Pop band ?

MGS5 opening month in the U.S.

~530K PS4

~180K XB1

The WW ratio was even bigger of course.

It wasn't an article, but someone who manages Best Buy and has access to numbers within a 400 mile radius. He frequently offers his assessments and observations in stores.

Not to mention, if we look at the amount of JRPGs on the XB1 and the PS4, it's completely one-sided. Other than Type-0, the XB1 has Stranger of the Sword City. Meanwhile, the PS4 received Odin Sphere, SAO: Hollow Realization, Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, etc. While many of those JRPGs aren't big, they at least help maintain interest of the JRPG fanbase that own a PS4.

Persona is a fairly big game that won't come for the Xbox.  People who will purchase Final Fantasy on the Xbox One, are the ones that  play shooters or other western games as their main genre. The dedicated fanbase for Final Fantasy is nearly non-existent on the Xbox One and, because of that, more Deluxe editions  are being sold for the PS4 than normal editions for the Xbox One. Why would a non-dedicated person purchase the Deluxe edition ?

It's more possible that less sales are made on PS4 because of westernization of the game than more is made on X1. People that never played or liked FF I to X-3 won't magically decide they want to buy in droves FF XV now only because this entry is more western.

Not to mention games are not developed on a console. Games are developed on a PC. The PC matches the specs, but it's as easy as running it on both machines and minimizing details. I have no idea why a game would release on Steam and not on Xbox One.

Of course, if the rumor Xbox requires publishers to print at least 200,000 discs, then I can see why they'd hesitate to port the game over to our console. If so, we're safe. This game will probably surpass Fallout 4's sales.

Well said Slade. No gamer should be left behind simply because they hate a specific brand. I like Bethesda but despise their Softworks team. Does this entail not getting BGS games anymore?

Besides, people forget this Final Fantasy's very Western even by Final Fantasy standards.

And it seems that you doesn't consider the fact that Final Fantasy is one of the biggest franchises in Japan and the actual data that we have about Pre-orders. Even on the USA(where is the majority of the Xbox Ones sold) things aren't looking good for the Xbox One's version.

Would be awesome if this game sells more than Fallout 4 sold on the Xbox One, with the Xbox One version. Since, if that happens, the game will surpass 25 millions of units sold on the PS4 alone.

Not necessarily. Recently almost everything points out most Xbox gamers seem to be moving towards digital media. With a game like this one, it makes sense to, not to mention I am sure it will be more popular on the PS4, but not horribly so...

The way I see it, I think 8.5 and above for PS4 and 1.7 and above for XONE sounds likely since the ratio seems not different from what I've forecasted for other games.

The only sensible options here are 80 to 85 percent...

If we were to predict the US/UK ratio, but I believe the OP is asking for the worldwide ratio...

I stand by what I said.

FF isn't the same thing every year. Each installment is a completely different game. If people buy things solely for the label, then we're beyond salvation...
