It's not about being fun and cool, that would be rediculous. It's about having a correct worldview. And while I happily discuss politics with everyone, I have no time to amuse neoliberal assholes as part of my circle of friends.

Wow, it doesn't get anymore shallow than this if you align who your adversaries and allies are ...

I wonder what you're going to do about your friends supporting the idea of "true equality" through the extinction of the current human race in order to create a new unified human race where there's only one skin color, one gender, and what is essentially all human clones of each other ... (Hey you and your friends asked for extreme leftism/equality just to wipe off racism, sexism or what you deem is pollitically incorrect bullshit. Hell political correctness is for suckers if one realizes true communism through genetic engineering.)

None of my friends support such an idea. Wiping people of difference out isn't historically a left thing to do.

Well I think people who respect differing political viewpoints are likely people who are from the centre so they can sympathize or perhaps see certain viewpoints.

This sounds harsh but if people go the far left or the far right, the further they go the more blind they become.

Which makes me wonder...how many people in America are actually left, right, or center?

The population is like 400 million of which only about 50 million vote. Looking at Romeny/Obama the election was close about 45/55. So of the 50m it's roughly 25m Left, 25m right. And considering the mentality is generally "lesser of two evils" many of those 25m are in fact centrists who simply have no choice but to stick with their party's candidate.

So, yeah, what do you guys think? How many are actually purely left/right?

People are not inherently left/right or centre, that changes depending on the situation. And extremes are not necesarily blind. I believe third way is stupid way to think, the right is responsible for most societal problems today, so naturally the left holds the way forward, as it always has.

Hmm you just sound like a typical arrogant European who has to high of an opinion of himself...

lol

I cant be friends with anyone who is a neoliberal...

Extreme left has killed tens of millions of people in the 20th century...

Extremes of either side have been a disaster...

and brought prosperity to a great deal of people, manged to create a country with 87% of the economic output of the USA with half of the people. It's not because I'm european that I have a high opinion of myself, Europe is also slowly destroying our social security and expending benifits for businesses.

Instead of staying on a centrist "all is fine path", which is rediculous, think about the world around you. I for one won't be happy untill we have a democracy based around workers councils.

Well, I don't know which "path" is the best. But I will say that in the US our congress has pretty much never adopted a centrist attitude. We need a majority of support for bills to pass in Congress and at the end of the day most bills only get passed when a majority of the hosue is dominated by the left or right party. As far as I'm concerned a centrist attitude would do way more for progress than harm.

Well you see there is a lot of people in society that dont want a far left society and you have to deal with that...

That is called being a mature person...

Supporting Trump might as well be treated as an act of terrorism.

And you're trying to compare voting in an election to being a terrorist now? Come on, you're just overreacting about this.

I don't think he means you are literally a terrorist like bin Laden.  Have you ever heard the term "bomb-throwing" in the sense of taking a political stance that you just want to tear down the establishment at any cost?  He is saying that in the context of casting a vote a vote for Trump is a very destructive way to try to grab attention, trying to get your message across no matter the terrible cost.  (In fact, the bigger the mess is, the more you like it because of "sticking it to the man".)  I think the analogy to terrorism is a legitimate one from that perspective, although you can certainly disagree with his assessment of the consequences of electing Trump and your motivations for voting for him.

Justin is not as good as he claims to be but I rather have him then a bunch of marxists and far left radicals.
