This is just getting stupid, YES, there's a different but .....come on. Will this improve the framerate. what is the purpose of this...... :L

Bro, do you even code? It's funny that you'd expect improved framerate from a hardware upgrade.

1 Megapixel vs 2 Megapixel vs 4 Megapixel vs 8 Megapixel

720p vs 1080p vs 1440p vs 2160p (4K)

Maybe that will put some perspective on what we are seeing. Now go take a picture of the same location at all four of those resolutions, and tell me which one looks the best on your 1080p TV. I garentee that the 8MP image will have a vastly better image quality than the rest, even though it is being viewed on a 1080p display.

Now, if you can, take one image with an outdated 2MP camera, and take the 8MP photo with a top of the line DSLR. That is what we are going to see with the PS4 vs PS4 Pro. We have a higher resolution image, rendered by a more advanced GPU, making the same scence. It is not going to fundemently change the world, but it will capture more detail, and make everything more pleasing to look at.

These raw photos will give you a much better representation that these massivly compressed screen caps for now. Until we get some raw .png images to compaier, you won't see the true difference.

With that said, both this comparison and the Titan fall 2 one going around look much better. Now that I have veiwed it on my 75in TV, I am even more impressed.

Given your last comment and my reply to it, i assume this is in some capacity aimed at me? That or my comment has dramatically shifted your view :p

Regardless, there's nothing wrong with expecting general frame-rate improvements, but casually expecting 100%+ frame-rate improvements in AAA titles from something like the Pro (a linear upgrade to a GPU focused system) is a bit silly, yes :)

The Scorpio and Pro having to be fully compatible with their predecessors quite heavily limits their design space. Quite simply, they have very little in the way of x86 AMD alternatives. The Scorpio's late release and potentially higher price gave some hope to them utilizing AMD's new zen architecture, but given we now know it's an 8-core CPU like its little brother (well, technically the X1 is 4x2, but regardless), that's become a lot less likely. The 8-core Zen would be quite an expensive alternative, and arguably a bit counter productive for a system being marketed as a 4k machine.

I'm sorry if i somehow offended you, but i feel people being informed is preferable to the alternative.

Not seeing $400 worth of upgrades here...

It's only $100 to upgrade.

It's $400 if you already own a PS4 (minus however much you sell your PS4 for, if you go down that rout). If you don't, then it's less an upgrade and more a super shiny new console.

both are being rendered at 1080p screen.

Supersampling

Others are saying downsampling, but anyway, they are the same resolution on render, so the only difference isn't more res.

The upgrade on the CPU is very marginal, so fps gains expectation should be kept to minimum

Actually downsampling/supersampling/whateveryouwanttocallit IS just more res, the difference is it is the resolution the game engine is rendering at, rather than the resolution the game is display at. It's displayed at 1080p, but the game is rendered at a resolution above that. It gives a better quality and more accurate image that loses less of the quality in assets and reduces dem jaggies.

Yes, I understand that much, jut saying it's silly to say the difference is from more res when you aren't displaying in higher res (even more when people will assume that it's like 1440p or 4k being displayed), and considering there is also better texturing, shadow maps, etc.
