In 2008 we'll be able to download Blu-ray movies from PS3 to PSP for watching on the move, if Sony has its way.

Reported by Kotaku, the Japanese company is looking to launch what is called Portable Copy later this year, although there's no confirmed date as yet.

The site says, however, it's been told by Sony that the technology for this to happen is still in development, so in that case don't hold your breath.

Sony's going all out for connectivity. Good for those who have both and dig the whole Blu-Ray thing.

Sony really did mess up many things with the PSP and the PS3, but the connectivity between the two is showing how you're supposed to connect a console and a handheld.

I give props to Nintendo for winning both console and handheld markets, but their connectivity is rather slack.

I think this Portable Copy idea is pretty cool.

I'm not actually sure if this is just for PSP either. I think the BDA was working with the technology to allow it with any handheld device that'll accept MP4 format. Don't quote me on that, but I could have sworn I'd read it :P I think it's a fantastic idea and it makes Blu-ray all that much better. Massive Kudo's to Sony and the BDA.
