Forums - Nintendo - So Paper Mario Color Splash is a huge flop

It wasn't what the people wanted...it simply wasn't. The game is gorgeous, but it has no soul. It's mundane...much like Sticker Star. I had faith in it but it just didn't perform. Hopefully Nintendo takes note of this.

I think the trend is already in place, Nintendo is trying to milk every franchise and doesn't care much about quality.

Paper Mario: Color Splash - Metacritic 76
Kirby and the Rainbow Curse - Metacritc 73
Star Fox Zero - Metacritic 69
Mario PArty 10 - Metacritic 66
Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 - Metacritic 65
Wii Party U - 65
Game & Wario - 61
SiNG PArty - Metacritc 60
Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash - Metacritic 58
Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 - Metacritic 55
Pokemon Rumble U - Metacritic 49
Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival - Metacritic 46
Devil's Third - Metacritic 43

we don't want this paper mario, we don't want that metroid. it's simple.

Agree, Paper Maria was a deep RPG, this new one is a silly dumb game. Metroid was a deep exploration tense lonely geame where you felt alone and happy when you got a upgrade. The new ones are silly colorful nothingness.

Make good games and we will dig it.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

Imho if Nintendo gets their shit together and re-uses the engine/assets of Color Splash to make a proper Paper Mario RPG they can get out of this situation with a decent profit

Don't forget Federation Farce with a 64.

Pikmin 3DS will be next on the list.

It's typical of Nintendo these days, botched games, half finished, games that refuses to be waht the fans asked for, released with little to no marketing.

The Nintendo Quality is really not what it was, I don't get why people don't see it. Nintendo dis a terrible job with their WiiU games.

It's not that no one wants this. everyone said the same thing about sticker star and yet it's sold over 1 million.

Many nintendo games were controversial on the internet but sold a ton. remember when people thought mk8 would be the worst selling mario kart and only get 5 million max? it's currently at 8 million.

I think colour splash and the other underperforming Wii U games aren't failing because lack of quality. Fire emblem and shin megami tensei had a great crossover. they just failed because the Wii U is slowly dying. not too many people are interested in the newer games.

I own colour splash, and in all honesty, it's much better than sticker star. with your logic it shouldn't fail if it is a good gamr

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

Color splash has the same metascore than Sticker Star.

Both games have scores who are much inferior than the previous entries (N64 : 93, GC: 87, Wii:85).

This will be ported to Switch with extra content I'd bet.

1) Putting your argumentation on a Metacritic score is funny.

2) So now 76 on Metacritic means it's a shitty game ?

On metacritics:

80+ = very good game, 85+ excellent

70+ = good  game

60+ very average

Under 60 = shit

it's not rocket science, but it's just telling the fact that it's far less reviewed than the previous games.
