It doesn't matter if anyone uses it, it only matters if you can advertise with it :p

Only console with 4K UHD disc playback, fastest console ever, and cheapest VR headset too now

Are those VR headsets even meant for games? Your other points make sense, but I haven't seen MS pushing their headsets as an Xbox type of thing. I mean, Samsung could say that Gear VR is the cheapest VR unit by far.

I doubt it, otherwise it would be in their PR for Scorpio already :) Nothing else is known yet except a target price and a scripted demo. Perhaps it is more of a devkit for HoloLens apps.

It sounds like a pro sony thing so lets agree with him.

Anway now watch an older thread with the mention of Pachter in it and feel the hate =p

Why are people agreeing with pachter?

Doesn't the logic we have used for years conclude that 4k Blue Rays will be the best selling physical media the world has ever seen.

XD its PACHTER gys

How about let's agree or disagree with him because of what he's saying, not because of preconceptions?

I agree, and 1080p Blu-Ray movies still look great on 4K TV. If it was 499$ with these specs and without 4K Blu-Ray you could complain.

I agree with tha statement, but HDR, Wide colour gamut and the higher resolution offer a picture that is simply put way better. Although people who care about 4k UHD blu ray can buy another player instead, which looks better (not very difficult since the PS4 pro is ugly as fuck), offers better sound and produces less noise. The prce of UHD players won't be high forever and the PS5 will probably support it anyway. Otherwise buy a Xone S or Scorpio, but I doubt many people are preferring a console over another console for it's ability to play 4k blu rays in a time where streaming is the norm.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

It probably doesn't in terms of the general public's perception but I'm a self-declared Sony boy(own all their consoles, have 3 vitas, 3 PS3s, will buy a Pro when I get a 4K tv etc) and I am pissed off and perplexed that the Pro did not come with an UHD blu ray player. I can cop the Slim not featuring one, but I think most here assumed the Pro UHD blu ray player would be a certainty. It would have made the Pro the all round perfect 4K TV companion. Streaming, gaming and physical media. It does feel like something major is missing from it.

thanks a lot Pachter... you just doomed the Pro

Makes sense but doesn't mean that it wouldnt have been nice to have though

UHD Sales are so low because alot of people can't afford an expensive 4K Blu-Ray Player here in germany. They cost 700 Euro! And with the XBox One S this has changed and I'm happy that I can now watch 4K Blu-Rays!

Not to mention, there are only 2 avalible models of UHD player. One of which (the Samsung one) is garbage.
