Skyrim: Special Edition mods are off to a decent start on consoles

Xbox One more so than PlayStation 4

"Notice that file size? On PlayStation 4, at least, mods tend to be minuscule. KB, not MB. Creators can't upload "external assets," so the ambitious total conversions and more out-there, original mods that we know and love don't have a place on PS4. (Blame Sony.) For that unfortunate reason, your best choice -- assuming you have a choice in platform -- is to play Skyrim: Special Edition on either Xbox One or PC."

"How's the selection at launch? Better than expected. There are 128 mods for Xbox One and 50 mods for PlayStation 4 (that asset restriction really weighs this port down), about half of which I've activated."

I hope Nintendo allows mods on the Switch, and I hope that Bethesda cares enough about that port to allow mods for it too.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Nexusmods was down almost all day yesterday, there's some insane traffic going on right now. Just shows how massive mods are, I'm pretty sure that the vast majority of late sales of games like this is due to the possibilities with mods. I currently have around 90 active mods and plugins now on Skyrim, but I'll do a clean install some time and go balls to the walls and create an insane looking, insane playing Skyrim to be proud of!

I've never wanted Skyrim but this has my attention.

Meanwhile on Nexusmods: almost 50,000 Skyrim-mods in total, ~5000 Skyrim-mods with more than 1000 "endorsements".

Bethesda.net looks like it sucks compared to Nexus. They have a very, very long way to go.

Now, I'm ignorant because I don't do mods.  But what I'm getting here is that Nexusmods is one source of mods while Bethesda themselves are another, right?

Yeah, and the Bethesda source will be heavily moderated... so no naughty mods there ;)

Ha.  Of course I've known in general that a PC is the way to go for mods.  And going off on a tangent, does the Xbox One version allows access to Nexusmods?

Good luck to Xbox live when someone dresses up a virus as an item of lingerie for your companion.

Can that be done? Has it been done in the past?
