how do I transfer my stuff to the new Pro?

I have P.T!

Just check my thread: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=221353&page=1

Plan A is impossible due to DRM

Plan B, C and D should work, including the transfer of P.T.

Plan E should work, but you lose P.T. that way

I think I heard something about transfering stuff via LAN.

Would be a lot cooler though if I could just plug my old SSHD into the Pro and be done with it. The drivers shouldn't be all too different.

every Sony console using it's own encryption key for their hdds probably is part of their anti piracy/jailbreak measures

So how do I do it then?

First I'll copy everything from my PS4 to the PS4 Pro. Then I replace the SSHD in my PS4 with the regular 500GB HDD. Then I copy from my PS4 Pro back to the PS4. Then I put the SSHD into the Pro and copy again from the PS4 to the PS4 pro.

Seems like an awful convoluted way. And people say consoles are easier than PCs.

yes, it's a hassle that way, but luckily you probably only have to do so once in this console generation

It could all be so simple if Sony would do like EVERYBODY ELSE and just let us toss in an external HDD.

I spent an hour swapping out hard drives, yesterday. Turns out, there are two downloads for firmware 4.05 and I was downloading the wrong one!

My original 500gb Xbox One has 2.5TB of memory because I just plugged up a new hard drive and that was it. In fact, since I have two Xbox Ones, I can just unplug from one and plug into the other and all of my content goes with me. Copying or transferring from one HDD to the console is so flawless, sometimes I transfer a game while I'm still playing it!

/Rant.

Now that you mention it, there is absolutely no need for me to copy the files. from my old PS4. I can just switch in my drive from my PS4 and then load it up with a new OS. All my saves are stored in the cloud anyway.

and this is why i have a 4TB external HDD. Though i wont even need it cause i am in a bit of a pickle.

I had a 1TB ADHD in my PS4. Made two back ups, One of just my save files and the other of my entire HDD. put the 500GB HDD back into the console and sold it.

But now I have also bought a 512GB Samsung SSD that's going into my PS4pro. So I can't even copy everything back into it, will only be able to copy my save data and stuff.

Ah well, at least now I can use an SSD in the pro so it's all good. Would have to be doing some aggressive data management now.

I hope it's that simple. I have a feeling, though....

I'll be getting a PS4 soon, especially since I got the Uncharted Nathan Drake Collection for $20 the other day.

I've been thinking of getting the NDC collection even  though I still have my PS3 discs. It's so cheap! I may not even play them but it feels like I should own it.
