every Sony console using it's own encryption key for their hdds probably is part of their anti piracy/jailbreak measures

So how do I do it then?

First I'll copy everything from my PS4 to the PS4 Pro. Then I replace the SSHD in my PS4 with the regular 500GB HDD. Then I copy from my PS4 Pro back to the PS4. Then I put the SSHD into the Pro and copy again from the PS4 to the PS4 pro.

Seems like an awful convoluted way. And people say consoles are easier than PCs.

It could all be so simple if Sony would do like EVERYBODY ELSE and just let us toss in an external HDD.

I spent an hour swapping out hard drives, yesterday. Turns out, there are two downloads for firmware 4.05 and I was downloading the wrong one!

My original 500gb Xbox One has 2.5TB of memory because I just plugged up a new hard drive and that was it. In fact, since I have two Xbox Ones, I can just unplug from one and plug into the other and all of my content goes with me. Copying or transferring from one HDD to the console is so flawless, sometimes I transfer a game while I'm still playing it!

/Rant.
