the game hasn't proven anything yet, that's his point.

I didn't say it had proven anything yet, and it wont have until we see sales and score results.  What I said is that it is in the process of proving itself;)

I have only just heard of Fable 2 by reading the article. Well it will not be as good as White Knight Chronicles or Final Fantasy XIII on the PS3.

Really? And where exactly have you heard of White Knight Chronicles? Did they perform a special gameplay preview for your eyes only?
Anyway, if you havent heard before of Fable 2, what the hell are you doing in these forums?

People are kinda strange. When the talk comes to Fable, they say they didn't live up to its expectations. I played the game without being aware of these "expectations" and i freakin' enjoyed the game. Now Molyneux says that he KNOWS what went wrong and he doesn't do the same mistakes.
Now, when the talk comes to FF13, they say it will be the greatest RPG for this gen. And what do they expect? Another FF. They will be happy only with ANOTHER FF. And why did ALL of these narrow minded people bashed LO??? Because it reminded them A LOT of the original FFs!!!
This is called S-C-H-I-Z-O-P-H-R-E-N-I-A.

Molyneux isn't talking up Fable 2 NEARLY as much as he did Fable (most likely because Microsoft has shoved a giant apple into his mouth to shut him up). What that means is that Fable 2 is earning it's hype primarily on what is shown of the game, rather than what is said about it.

I thought what was shown at GDC was impressive, but CVG have just seen a demo that sounds even better (it may have been a more in-depth version of the same demo). What is interesting is that they point out that while promises are being made, "the latest demo didn't just hint at massive features, it actually showed them occurring in-game."

The preview ends with CVG saying Fable 2 is going to rewrite the book. There are a lot of awesome looking WRPG's and JRPG's coming this year (Tales, Fallout, Too Human), but it is beginning to look like Fable 2 will be the most innovative, fun and refreshing RPG of them all in 2008.

Not a bad follow up on 2007's Mass Effect for the 360.


What hype?  A tumbleweed just rolled by in RPGs-don't-move-360s-especially-not-in-Japan land.

And tell the truth now: have you EVER said that KZ2 wasn't likely to be great, and used the fact that KZ wasn't great as evidence of your prediction?  

Because Fable wasn't great.  In fact, it sucked.

Despite the fact that I would say that Fable was a letdown (as an owner of it), the fact is, reviewers, and general opinion gave Fable a MUCH better view than that of Killzone.

Fable - 85.1% Avg Rating (114 Reviews), 8.3 User Rating
Killzone - 73.3% Avg Rating (78 Reviews), 7.8 User Rating


So, one could say that Killzone 2 will have the better improvement, since the ratings for Killzone 1 were so abysmal.

And why are we arguing this against people that either:

1) Don't own a X360
2) Don't care about X360 games, unless to bash them.

THATS what I forgot to mention.  Fable maintained a much higher average even with 30% more reviews.

It is true that it is easier for Killzone to improve because it has more room to improve (lol), but the issue is there is no indication the game is improving in any area but grahpics.  Lionhead is talking about co-op, integrated arcade games, AI features and combat systems, whilst Guerilla is discussing framerates and polygon counts.  The main problem with the first killzone wasn't graphics, it was gimped gameplay.

Peter Molyneux looked at the succes of nintendogs and thought how can i implement the same thing to achieve the same succes in fable 2.
After some thinking he got to the conclusion that people like pets.
what a pure genius.
then he looked abit at zelda .
how can i achieve the same succes a with fable as with zelda.
after some serious thinking he got it.

FFCC is not turd. It is a good game. I haven't played the DS one (yet) but I'd bet it is a good game. And the Wii FFCC looks very excellen. Looks like typical FF x KH to me.

And we haven't heard/seen anything about Crystal Bearers in over a year! Seems more like vaporware.

 They already confirmed in videos about the DS version that they aren't going to have compatibility between the ds , and wii game. WHich implies that the game is still being developed. ALso since when has SE been known for vaporware.
