If Fable 2 will be the best RPG of 2K8 based on that article alone, then this year must be completely devoid of RPG:s.
I'm not necessarily saying that Fable 2 will be horrible or a colossal disappointment, but I'm not really seeing anything revolutionary here. All I really got out of that article - besides the obvious hype job - was that there are no gold drops (an interesting design choice), there's an active co-op mode, and you can transfer loot between games. Oh, and the game supposedly has great AI, but the same was said about Black and White, and we all know how that turned out. At least they're not focusing on graphics over gameplay.
While all of those features listed above are at least somewhat intriguing, they don't make the game by themselves, and I have yet to see anything that would make Fable 2 RPG of the year, especially when it has to contend with games like Fallout 3.
This is not a jab or a sarcastic remark, but an honest question: Why would Fable 2 be the greatest RPG of the year?
