If EA made a console, they would charge you $500 and you would have to buy their hard drive, controllers, disc trays, and fan separate.

LOL, i wouldnt doubt that.............
I want EA to make a console so as to:
1) Spend billions of dollars to make a new console that will likely be unable to contend with other consoles on the market (huge, weak 1st party lineup means it would be weaker than Nintendo, and the large number of games they make would make it less attractive than the 360 [or 720 when it would be released, PS3/4 left out since the OP specifically says they are waiting to see how the PS brand does, presumably because this would only happen if the PS brand falters]). Could EA's first party really hold up a console? I don't think so.
2) True innovation in NFL games again - unless they decided to continue publishing Madden on all consoles. Which, I suppose they might, and just have a separate branch for the EA console that they make better than the other versions :-/

You know, the more I think about it, the more a world in which EA goes the way of Neo Geo would be a pretty decent world. I hope they make one.
Please, PLEASE do NOT feed the trolls.

This reminds me a great deal of the console boom of 1992 to 1995, when everybody and their grandma was getting into the gaming hardware business. Unsurprisingly, everybody save Sega, Nintendo, and Sony backed out before hitting even 3 million units sold. None of them had a business model that worked for what they were capable of and willing to put into it.
You saw the exact same kind of designs being proffered up, too: "everything box" systems that tried to be more than just game systems. The more they tacked on beyond the focus of a unique gaming experience, the worse they did. The Pioneer LaserActive being the worst of the lot in that it cost more than the PS3 did at launch, had add-ons to play games from competing systems (which cost more than said competing systems did), and included add-ons with no practical application to gaming at the time (like the karaoke add-on).
Sky Render - Sanity is for the weak.

If they actually made a console and moved all of their games exclusively to their console, it would totally change the company's structure (which is built around multiplatform development), and it could well make them go out of business if the console flopped. The skeptical in me is doubting they'd take such a huge risk.
The question is, is it possible for such a console to flop? If they manage to buy Take Two, I suppose they get the IP rights to Grand Theft Auto. Together with all the franchises they already own, I suppose they could get many gamers on board.
I don't know whether I'd buy it or not, it depends on the quality of the available games, the controller, and so on.

I would never buy an EA system and if they did then depending on how successful they were (remember they have a ton of franchises) I would probably quit gaming. The day EA make a console is the day all hell breaks loose.

So, If EA started making consoles, what do you guys think?
Would you buy an EA-System? Nope
Do you think it would sell, sell mediocrely, or be a flop? probably flop
Names? they'd probably call it sdomething like sportzone or something, and have nothing but sports games
Would EA pull all of its titles from other systems? yep
Tell me what you think. I would not buy it at all, I really don't trust EA except for Medal of HonorIt would look ugly, perform in the lower mediocre area and provide bad games.
on a sidenote it would be named EAsomething2008, and you would have to buy the followup system named EAsomething2009 the year after, and the followup system named EAsomething2010 the year after that , and the followup system .....
How about "Ioi Console" ? We have the game, now time for the ioi gaming console.
Ioi console FTW.
BTW an EA console would smell like cow dung.
ehhhhh.....i doubt it and if it did, it will flop badly. Seriously, who would buy a console for EA games?
