Forums - General - Name a country that starts with a "U"

Uganda

Okay, issues with this:

Most Americans do not refer to United States of America by its full name, but as "America" hence most won't think of it when asking about a country that starts with U.

America does not have a national religion, hence Israel's religion isn't a concern to us. But I'm going to go with Jewish as the predominant one

If some guys sticks a camera in your face and asks how many sides a triangle has, you're going to wonder what the hell the catch is.

As for the rest of it, they had all of 20 people? My question is how many did they bump into that actually knew the answers that they didn't show? I bet I could dig up 20 people in any country I went to that wouldn't even understand the questions. Kenzomatic sums it up pretty well; "Most citizens in the world are dumb"

Obviously it's meant to poke fun and the stereotypical cliche, but it's honestly one that has gotten old for me.

Is this the one where the Australian man goes around asking Americans on the street simple questions? Pretty sure its been posted before...

Either way, it was funny to watch that again. I hate it how some women laugh at their own stupidity.

Nah, you're stupid, it's not funny.

Laughter often results from nervousness. That would be entirely natural.

Lot of defensive people here.. As long as you aren't one of those people you have nothing to worry about, chill out.

Do you think any of us is going to look at that video and think "Omg everyone in America IS stupid!" ? Give us more credit please, no need to defend anything.

We have these "stupid people" videos with giggling girls and empty staring boys over here as well, although it seems that some US citizens are...uhm...even less interested in the world outside their own than Europeans.

But ignorant people are everywhere. I'm no Einstein, but some of my friends - especially those with built-in newspaper denial - are sooo dumb and narrow-minded when it comes to topics outside their small world. Whenever they unasked start a political discussion and want to convince me of their opinion with stunning arguments ("don't vote the green party on Sunday! If they ever win, we're all doomed!"), I think "oh, here we go again" and bite my tongue. My next question is usually "and how are the kids doing?"

Uruguay and Uganda come to my mind.

Damn, That Guy beat me to it with Ukraine.

But hey, if UAE counts (only with an U in English, I guess), I can also say Ungarn (Hungary in German).

Wow. After viewing that video, at least people will understand why bush was elected. Most "US Americans" are just.. dumb.

FWIW I'm American and could have answered all those questions.. we're not all like that.

There have been similar videos made about every major Western nation. There are idiots everywhere.

And Bush got re-elected because the only other feasible choice was freakin' Kerry. Both candidates were as crappy as they come.

And to throw in my own "U" nation: Uzbekistan.

Edit: Drat! Beaten by damkira.
