Forums - Nintendo - What does the future hold for Pokemon now that NSwitch was unveiled?

If this is indeed both a handheld and a home console it means there won't be an HDS in the future. We've heard about Nintendo merging their devs for this and the hybrid thing is real. The graphical jump from Wii to post-Wii U level graphics is massive, and let's be honest, it's even bigger when it comes to the mainline Pokemon games. So I have a few points I'd like to discuss with you guys:

  • Do you think there will be a Diamond/Pearl remake for 3DS next year?
  • Is Pokemon Eclipse a possibility?
  • Will 8th gen be the greatest thing ever with mindblowing graphics?
  • If that's the case, is the jump to HD the biggest one in Pokemon history?

Going from 3ds to Switch.... yeah that's probably the biggest jump in Pokemon History.

I am gonna fap like a whore when that trailer cums out

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

My opinion is that the Switch is 3DS BC, so it will be a similar situation to Black/White. We might even see just some sort of Sun2/Moon2 while they prepare their first mainline HD Pokemon.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Man that was bad! I almost forgot about it. I can't believe how much they milked the franchise back then when they quickly rehashed the BW and gave us not one but TWO third versions.

holy shit GOOD GRAPHICS on an open world pokemon game. I would expect something like Persona.

They need to make the next mainline Pokémon Switch exclusive. They might lose some sales, but man will they gain console sales.

Digimon Cyber Sleuth might be a good comparison!

I don't think it's bad per-se. I'd rather wait for the Shinnoh remake one gen, so we can get it on HD. Sun/Moon should have been a Shitch launch title, in my opinion. Or at least, a holyday 2017 title.
