Forums - Nintendo - is $399 a healthy price for Nintendo Switch?

$$$

Yes, make it $399 47 9.48%

No, $299 is enough for a Nintendo console 403 81.25%

I'd pay up to $449 19 3.83%

Take all my coins!!! 27 5.44%

Total:496

As always, people jumping to conclusions here.Unless we have more information on the specs, OS, and especially the games, any price is right.Having said that, 400 may be a bit steep.A price closer to 300 seems more about right.

If the Dock Station can augment the power of the system, yes 400$ if not 299$.

34 years playing games.

$399 would be a great price.

For a typical blank 128gb blu-ray disc its around $5/£4 but for a blank memory cartridge of that size you're paying $40/£35. I'm not sure how Nintendo will price their games

But that the price for an individual buy(Im assuming).Prices for big companies like Nintendo are lower because they buy in number, which make up for the lower profit per unit.

It really depends on what the dock does. Does it enhance the Switch's processing power? If so, yes 399 is fair. Considering you're not tethered to your home anymore when you want to play amazing looking games.

if you watch the trailer the zelda graphics was very clearly better on the tv than on the portable screen.  the dock has to be adding power.  still,.. it brought it up to somewhere between a wiiU and an xbox so it isn't exactly a high powered machine in 2017 for $400.

$499 or I'm not buying it.

It depends on content and performance. It it has great games and performs well, it can push $400. If it's a cheapo system offering mobile versions, $300 should be the launch price.

Luckily there's no game that has requied the use of a 128gb blu-ray disc, I don't know of any games on ps4 that use more than a standard dual layered bluray (50gb).

32gb should be sufficient though, slightly reduced texture, and possible audio/pre-rendered video, but it'll fit!

Going over 300,00 they will have to show very good processing power of the dock to make it worth for general gamers, but I liked the idea of the console so far.

What if it`s $599?

I'd only want it more. Sheds tear.
