The PS4 and Xbox One are $299 each. The Switch needs to be that, if not less.

| Yes, make it $399 | 47 | 9.48% | |
| No, $299 is enough for a Nintendo console | 403 | 81.25% | |

The are obviously going to be bundles, the will likely be a cheap bundle with just the console and the detachable parts.
| Guitarguy said: Well if it is more powerful than the Xbox One(as some people here are saying), then there is no chance it will be less than $299 considering it contains an expensive and large LCD screen built in. It doesn't have a blu ray drive/UHD drive so you can minus the $30 odd for that but either it is below the Xbox One S in terms of power or it will be more expensive that the Xbox One S. $399 would be marketing suicide. |
No one but one guy is saying that and he's most likely dead wrong, lol.
Xbox One performance would melt the inside of a portable that small in 25 minutes.
There's nothing in that trailer that had graphics anywhere close to Ryse or Gears 4 or any big XB1 games. Mario looked like a Wii U could easily handle that.

Nintendo can't push the same pricepoint than the Pro for a console that still has to prove itself and that won't be as powerful. 299 would be a way better deal. The question is whether Nintendo will profit from each one or if they'll take losses?
I think it'll be $249.99 or something like $269.99.
The Nvidia Tegra chip does not cost that much, Nvidia was selling the Shield microconsole for $199.99 a year ago.
So add in a small 720p LCD display (cheap), and a battery (batteries are cheap also), and yeah, I don't see why it would cost over $299.99.
I'd be more concerned about how much the games are going to cost.
For a typical blank 128gb blu-ray disc its around $5/£4 but for a blank memory cartridge of that size you're paying $40/£35. I'm not sure how Nintendo will price their games

That is significantly overpriced. It is a handheld that has a dock which charges it an has a HDMI connector to the TV. So far, there is nothing to suggest that it provides a significant performance boost... Otherwise they would have advertised that feature.
$250-$300 at the highest. I think it should be $250 if they want to really get it off the shelfs

i can understand the argument that it is two devices in one but...
...i would never use it as a portable. it is too big to be portable. for me this could only be a home console and as a home console the power displayed would be very disappointing for $400. also the standard controller looks crappy for home console usage.
i don't think i'd pay more than $200 for this. i just don't find value in a portable device the size of an ipad mini. i don't want to carry a purse.
$249 max imo. Can't be more expensive then the ps4/X1 especially when it doesn't look more powerful.
