Forums - Nintendo - If an online video game suffers from lag all the time, it's a bad game.

Like I'm sick of lag sooooooo much. It's the #1 rage in video games. Why do you think Snoop Dogg raged online too? Everyone who controls the servers PLEASE fix them! Look what I did with Nintendo, they lost a Smash NX customer AND IM SURE IM NOT THE ONLY PERSON whos doing this.

Lag ruined the Smash experience for me, I have LOTS of people who I know who dislike Call of Duty because of lag. Like yeah I know lag is everywhere and it happens sometimes.... but if game like Smash Bros or Call of Duty, Splatoon ect suffers from lag its a terrible game. Yes the game concept, gameplay is good but lag is HUGE con to a video game. This is why when I saw Smash bros for Wii U getting a  93% score I raged. because NO its NOT that high. It's a terrible gamebecause of the lag. Offline mode is the best smash experience ever, but online is the WORST. Smash bros is NOT a  93%, it suffers from lag SO ITS MORE LIKE A  SEVEN OUT OF TEN.

I haven't played Final Fantasy online before but if it suffers from lag, well I already know it's NOT a good game.

Like I wish everyone else would see my perspective. if only all the gamers world wide stopped purchasing games because of lag, the company people will actually DO something about it, and when they do, EVERYONE will be happy again. And our happiness will be comparable to the good old SNES days. Not NES because the games were too hard.

Makes sense.

I had been playing Smash for quite some time (I stopped when overwatch came out) but I never had such a bad experience with lag that you are suggesting that frequently. SSB4 is Peer to Peer so the one with the slowest connection is the one that is causing the lag.... Can you do a speedtest and post it here so that we know its not you that is causing the lag?

Correct me if I am wrong but I don't know of any fighting game that can mask the lag. With games like FPS and etc, frames aren't as important as fighting games so they can mask the lag but with fighting games? I don't get how it would be possible... Even with Mortal Kombat on PC, I have had some pretty laggy matches cause it has to be as fast as the lowest connection.

Heck, I don't even think there is a single fighting game that has dedicated servers. KI for example, only has dedicated servers to pair the match making while the actual match itself is p2p

Didn't you already make a thread like this the other day? You can always just post in the thread (the very first one I mean) you already made about this.

Get better internet or git gud bro.

I'll agree with this.

Op - turn off cellular data on your phone. then go to speedtest.net and set the phone on-top of your Wii U to see the D/L speed of your WiFi connection. If it's below 3Mbps move your system.

Hey, play Batman Arkhan Knight. Great single player experience that will keep you engaged for days, no online connection required to enjoy it.
I am playing it right now and it is pretty amazing. Great graphics too.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

KI's netcode IS the best out there for fighting games. That's a fact.

You get paired up with players across the globe with no noticeable lag.

Not saying the netcode is bad or anything. Just saying I dont get how a company is supposed to mask the lag in a p2p fighting game when a user has slow connection...

There's no way around that if your internet takes ages to download a NES game.

Exactly the point I am trying to make to the OP.
