Forums - Nintendo - Wii U has been Hacked(Sort of)

Eh, I'll pay for all the Wii U games I want to play I got left to get, which is a handful tops.

it's a pretty simple soft mod. load loadiine to root of SD card (FAT32) and a separate folder with wii u iso's.

No it's not the "modern way" it's actually pretty limited and gives kernel access only not OS and doesn't modify anything because it technically can't. Well maybe it is modern because kernel hacks are becoming more common as they're easier namely PS4 has a kernel hack at 1.76 FW that can even run linux and PSVita recently got one allowing game backup loading and a lot of good stuff. Also all of the systems got hacked through a web browser exploit.

I think hacking hardware is becoming difficult that's why no such hack of 8th gen systems exist except 3ds maybe. I don't know much about hacking but browser based hacking is at least safer i think

I have payed for a lot of games and even third party titles. I think I have 20 titles or so but some games I want to play I could not buy and I am saving for an NX. I live in a country whose currency is not very powerful so I was not going to buy these games anyhow. I have more than contributed to wii u software wise. Also you can back up your games so that's something

Not really new news, since this sort of was a thing before

True, just don't need it to pirate, I do understand where some people are coming from though. I'm just fortunate not to need to go that route.

Well, now that the replacement is coming and the HW sold little I don't think this is a big new.

I use it for all of the mods we can put on Smash 4 like character skins, stage skins, music, etc. They really put new life into the game.
