Forums - PC - I Inherited a Laptop PC a While Back. Is it Still "Good?"

CPU is really bad, like the old Intel Atom level bad:

Even my 10 year old T60 has a much faster CPU (intel T7600)

Yea that CPU wasn't even good brand new. Sorry.

Update on the PC. A friend of ours daughter needed a laptop PC for school so we gave it to her. Nothing real major in terms of specs so this worked out. Helping a friend always trumps over hoarding stuff you'll probably never use anyway. Admittedly, it would have been harder to let go if the laptop were more "souped up." But I have more than I need anyway. Thanks for all the comments.

Well as somebody mentioned here, there are plenty of oldschool AAA games on GoG that will run without any issues on it I used to have a similar old laptop, that had a decent battery and used it just for oldschool gaming

And I love me some old school games.  I am somewhat in the market for a new computer.  Maybe sometime earlier 2017?  We'll see.

Here are some games running on similar laptops to yours; https://www.google.com.mt/search?q=AMD+Radeon+HD+6310&oq=AMD+Radeon+HD+6310&aqs=chrome..69i57&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#q=AMD+Radeon+HD+6310&safe=active&tbm=vid

Send a Friend Request On PSN :P

Get a 120gb SSD from Amazon for $40 or less, and it will be immediately much less frustrating to use. Get one with the kit for USB transfer from old drive to new.

Worse then mine, which is also 5 years old. And I can barely play anything. Laptops need serious horsepower and cooling to do anything relevant. (+$1000 range)

But its cool you found someone to give it to :).
